Chapter 1709 - 1262: Stay

The room suddenly fell silent as Felix dipped an eyebrow pencil in brow powder and bent down to help Ash draw his eyebrows. After finishing the two sword-shaped brows, she calmly said, "I didn’t hide it; I just didn’t think it was worth mentioning."
She paused and added, "Painting was the only class my father insisted on arranging for me."
Felix didn’t know why she specially mentioned this; perhaps she didn’t understand her own emotions. It had been half a year since she heard the news of her father’s death. Time truly is the most wonderful force in the world. Her feelings toward her father had changed from intense hatred, to loss and confusion, and now had turned into an indescribable melancholy.
She didn’t want to hate, but if she didn’t, her past would be impossible to talk about; she didn’t want to forgive, but if she didn’t, her future wouldn’t start. With neither retreat nor advance, she felt as if she’d accidentally stepped into a pit and was trapped inside, unable to get out.
But this wasn’t how she planned it; there should have been a scene of confrontation between father and daughter. Regardless if her father was disgusted, regretful, hateful, or indifferent, Felix could accept it. At least she successfully took revenge on the Vosloda Family, at least her father finally looked at her, at least this erroneous familial relationship could finally have a full stop... but there was nothing.
Her father died in another world, she didn’t get to see him one last time, couldn’t sever the familial ties, nor could she... wait for his apology.
"Sorry," Ash said, looking at Felix in the mirror.
"You have many people to apologize to, but I’m not one of them." Felix took a deep breath and said quickly, "Aren’t you the one full of absurd logic and nonsense? Why have you become so reticent here?"
"I don’t like interfering in other people’s emotional lives," Ash said. "From my perspective, observers who like to point fingers are no different from zoo visitors, both indulging their curiosity with the lives in the cage. A detached view outside the situation has no meaningful guidance for the joys and sorrows inside."
Felix snorted a laugh, "Are you saying I’m pointing fingers at your love life?"
Ash shrugged, "I didn’t say that, but if you insist on thinking so, I can’t help it."
"If I say something unpleasant, then it means I’m right. If you get mad enough to want to hit me, then it means you’re anxious." Felix chuckled and picked up a hair tie to help Ash with his hair, "By the way, I got a message today."
"What message?"
"A message from home," Felix said. "Demi asked Hanna to pass on that the Kingdom of Stars has withdrawn all accusations against me, including participating in the Four Pillars God Sect’s sabotage of the Starry Sky, and following the Evil Mage Ash Heath... In short, I can go back to the Kingdom of Stars as the Duke’s sister and enjoy wealth and glory anytime."
"Oh." Ash thought for a moment, "With your current strength, plus your status as Duke Vosloda’s sister, you should be able to go rampant and have unparalleled power in the Kingdom of Stars, right?"
"I’m not like you guys," Felix said quietly. "However, I indeed don’t have much reason to stay here."
"Originally, the reason I joined the team was because you needed guidance to slip into Jiale City, and I was the most suitable choice... Later, because I was already on your ship of thieves, I could only continue down the wrong path."
"Now, you no longer need to hide on earth, and there are lots of people to serve you wherever you go. Someone like Freyja is definitely more than willing to take my place. And I’ve come off the blacklist, so I can openly return to the Kingdom of Stars."
"Your future enemy is Supreme Star, not to mention spectating, I can’t even keep up. Freyja and Hanna still have the hope of being your angels, while I haven’t even seen Ruby Mountain..."
She looked at Ash, who was all dressed up in the mirror and suddenly laughed, "Speaking of which, Sonia and I became mages on the same day. At that time, she was just a village girl with some talent, and I was the mysterious second son of a Duke... Life’s fortunes are really a muddled account."
No wonder she was so angry just now...
"So do you want to go back?" Ash asked.
"I don’t know, what do you think?"
"Your will is paramount, I won’t restrict your coming or going."
"Is that so..." Felix pressed her lips, speaking weakly, "Then I understand."
"But I want you to stay."
"I know... huh?"
"I’m the type who doesn’t want to come out of the comfort zone, and you almost turned me into a literal lazy bum, so you’d better take responsibility." Ash shrugged, "Although others’ service might be better than yours, they don’t dare comment on my emotional life."
"There always has to be a pure love terrorist pointing fingers at me," he chuckled, "otherwise I’ll lose the ability to feel shame and take everything for granted."
Felix looked down at him dumbfounded, "Just because of these reasons?"
"Hmm... and because your selfies are nice?"
"Anything else?"
"You also cook decently?"
"Anything else?"
Ash tilted his head at her, his eyes flowed with a lazy smile, his mouth curved into a half-smile. Felix slowly lowered her head, and her imposing attitude instantly crumbled, softly saying, "Sorry, I was too arrogant."
Ash asked, "So, would you be willing to give up the Duke sister’s luxury and stay here as a follower of the Supreme of Magic?"
Follower? More like caretaker... Felix snorted, "My mouth is really sharp! For Vishi and the others, I must stay to supervise you!"
"Please, be gentle with your words."
Felix examined Ash’s appearance, looking very satisfied with her handiwork.
Ash asked, "All done? Then let’s go."
"Wait, your lips seem a bit dry from staying up late, let me put some lip balm on for you." Felix pressed him down, "Come, close your eyes."
Close my eyes? Ash cast a sidelong glance at Felix, whose eyes were darting around, feeling amused, he obediently closed his eyes and relaxed his body.
Felix twisted out the lip balm, carefully applying it to her lips, then straddled Ash’s lap. Her plump softness pressed against his chest, her chubby thighs instinctively clamping his waist, wrapping her arms around his neck as she leaned in for a kiss, taking the lead in sampling the Supreme of Magic dressed to the nines.
Their tongues entwined, lips rubbed, and it took Felix five minutes to finish applying the lip balm. After wiping her lips, she noticed that Ash still had his eyes closed, and suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of awkwardness at her silly actions. She quickly got up and tidied her clothes as if nothing had happened, saying, "Alright, let’s go quickly before they come back to change clothes."
"By the way, what’s the plan for tonight?" Ash collaborated with her act as if nothing happened, stood up, and asked.
"A wedding," Felix flipped open her notebook, saying, "It seems to be the first wedding in the Kingdom of Blood Moon."
