Chapter 132: Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event
1 week ago · 7 min read
The first thing Yuji saw when he opened his eyes was a familiar white ceiling.
For a few seconds, his mind remained blank.
Then the memories came rushing back.
Junpei's house.
Mahito's laughter.
The Disaster Curses.
The street.
The riverbank.
The endless swarm of Cursed Spirits.
Yuji's body tensed beneath the blanket. He tried to sit up, but before he could move properly, a familiar voice rang out beside him.
"Good morning, Yuji."
Satoru Gojo stepped into his field of vision with a bright smile, as if nothing serious had happened at all.
"You slept for four whole days. How are you feeling now? Any back pain? Muscle aches? Emotional damage?"
Yuji stared at him for a moment, still dazed.
Four days?
His mind was still half-buried in the slaughter from that night. The smell of burning Cursed Spirits. The weight of the twin swords in his hands. The sensation of his body tearing itself apart and healing again.
Then clarity returned.
Yuji sat up at once.
"Junpei and his mom!" he said urgently. "What happened to them? And the people nearby? Were they okay?"
Gojo's smile softened slightly.
He had probably wanted to joke a little longer, but seeing Yuji like this, he did not drag it out.
"Thanks to you," Gojo said, "everyone is safe."
Yuji froze.
Only then did the tension in his shoulders loosen.
His hands slowly unclenched.
"That's good..."
Those two words left him like a sigh.
Not far from the bed, Kento Nanami stepped forward.
Unlike Gojo, he did not smile. His expression was as serious and restrained as ever, but Yuji could sense the concern beneath that calm exterior.
"Itadori-kun," Nanami said, "I understand this may be intrusive, but I need you to recount what happened that day in detail."
Yuji's mouth opened slightly.
Then it closed again.
He did not know where to begin.
The issue was not that he wanted to hide everything. It was that too much of what happened involved Asuramaru, and Gojo had warned him before that Asuramaru's existence could not be casually exposed.
Yuji looked toward Gojo.
Nanami noticed the glance. His brow furrowed slightly, but he did not press him.
Gojo, however, grew unexpectedly serious.
"Yuji," he said, "was your Cursed Technique exposed?"
He tapped his chin with one finger.
"That's strange. Only the four of us should know the details..."
He seemed to mutter that to himself, but the thought behind it was sharp.
Then, in the next moment, Gojo returned to his usual carefree smile.
"Well, Nanami, since you're already involved this far, there's no point hiding it from you."
Nanami turned toward him.
Gojo pointed lightly at Yuji.
"It's because of Yuji's Cursed Technique."
His smile widened.
"The legendary Asuramaru."
For once, Nanami's composure cracked.
His eyes sharpened behind his lenses.
"Are you serious?"
The words came out lower than usual, carrying rare disbelief.
Nanami had heard the legend, of course. Any experienced Jujutsu Sorcerer had at least heard fragments of it. A divine sword. A deity housed within a weapon. A power said to lead its wielder toward the title of strongest in history.
But legends were legends.
Most of the time, they were old stories dressed in mystery, exaggerated by fear and time.
He had never expected one to be real.
Gojo spread his hands.
"Very serious."
Then he turned both hands toward Yuji like a presenter introducing the main act.
"So I'll leave the explanation to Yuji."
Yuji swallowed.
Since Gojo had already given permission, he began recounting what had happened that night.
"It started when I was eating at Junpei's house," he said. "Three Cursed Spirits appeared, and there was one human with them. They already knew about Asuramaru. They wanted to challenge him."
He told them about the Binding Vow.
About Junpei and his mother being used as hostages.
About Kenjaku's group entering Asuramaru's Innate Domain.
About Tanjiro appearing.
About Jogo, Hanami, and Mahito being crushed in that world.
About Mahito exploiting the vow afterward and threatening to kill everyone on the street.
And about the rage that had finally broken something open inside him.
By the time he finished, the room was quiet.
Gojo leaned against the wall, one hand tucked into his pocket, his smile gone.
Nanami's expression had become even colder.
Two Special Grade Cursed Spirits had appeared before.
Now there were three.
One of them involved the soul, which alone made him extremely troublesome.
But even that was not the biggest problem.
A human had been with them.
A human who knew about Asuramaru.
Gojo's thoughts moved quickly.
How did they know about Yuji's Cursed Technique?
Did Sukuna leak something?
Or had someone been watching from the very beginning?
Yuji seemed to remember something and suddenly brightened.
"Gojo-sensei," he said, unable to hide his excitement, "Asuramaru acknowledges me more now!"
Gojo's mood shifted at once.
"Oh? Then I guess that really was a blessing in disguise."
He laughed aloud, and from his expression, he could already imagine what those Cursed Spirits had experienced inside Asuramaru's world.
Tanjiro had probably beaten them into the ground.
That guy was absurdly strong.
After laughing for a few seconds, Gojo turned his face toward Nanami again.
His tone was casual, but the meaning was not.
"Nanami. Not one word of what we discussed here leaves this room."
Nanami answered without hesitation.
"I heard nothing."
Clean.
Decisive.
Gojo was not surprised.
He trusted Nanami completely. There was no need for a Binding Vow between them.
Besides, he was far more curious about something else now.
Gojo leaned toward Yuji.
"So, Yuji. What did you gain this time?"
Yuji thought for a moment.
"I can borrow more of Asuramaru's power now. I can also enter Demonization."
He lifted one hand, staring at his palm as if trying to recall the feeling.
"If those three Cursed Spirits don't use Domain Expansion, I think I can handle them."
Nanami's gaze changed.
Handling three Disaster Curses at the same time, even under the condition that none of them opened a Domain, was already enough to place Yuji in the territory of Special Grade.
Gojo also understood what that meant.
Demonization should be the same state Tanjiro had used. A power that could raise combat ability by a terrifying margin.
Yuji's current raw strength had already reached a Special Grade level.
His technique and experience were still lacking, but those could be trained.
And there was an excellent opportunity coming up.
Gojo's mouth curled into a grin full of mischief.
"Then I'll leave the Kyoto Sister-School Event to you, Yuji."
Nanami immediately looked at him.
"Is it truly acceptable to reveal that Itadori-kun is alive during the event?"
"It's fine," Gojo said lightly. "Yuji is very strong now."
His tone was careless.
But his confidence was absolute.
Meanwhile, in a hidden mountain area far from Tokyo, steam rose from a secluded hot spring.
Jogo sat at the edge of the water, smoking his pipe. The heat around him blended with the mist, making the entire area feel like the inside of a volcano.
His single eye turned toward Mahito, who was soaking listlessly in the hot spring.
"You consumed too much. Are you all right?"
Mahito floated in the water with his arms spread, his long blue hair damp and clinging to his shoulders.
"I lost about half my soul," he said lazily. "But I'll recover slowly."
His smile returned, but it was thinner than before.
"That sword really is my natural enemy. What a headache."
Jogo fell silent.
Soon after, Kenjaku arrived.
Only then did the group begin discussing their next move.
Mahito climbed out of the water and sat at the edge of the spring.
"After experiencing Sukuna's strength, I understand now," he said. "We should continue focusing on Geto's plan. Sukuna is worth the effort."
Jogo nodded.
"Unseal him. Help him tame Asuramaru. Gather the fingers and offer them to him."
His voice grew heavier.
"Even if we are wiped out in the end, even if the one laughing in the wilderness a hundred years from now is not me... as long as curses can stand as true humans, that is enough."
Kenjaku listened to their resolve with a gentle smile.
"Then our first step is to retrieve the six fingers stored at Jujutsu High."
His tone was unhurried.
"I have already had Mahito leave a mark and allowed Jujutsu High to recover one of Sukuna's Fingers. When the time comes, Mahito will retrieve them. But for safety, we need to draw Jujutsu High's attention elsewhere so our true objective is not exposed."
Everything was moving forward in an orderly fashion.
A week later, the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event began as scheduled.
Outside Tokyo Jujutsu High, the Tokyo students had been waiting for some time.
There were six of them.
Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki from the first years.
Beside them stood the second years: Panda, the tall and sharp-eyed Maki Zen'in, and Toge Inumaki, whose collar covered the lower half of his face.
A short while later, the Kyoto students arrived.
They were also six.
Zen'in Mai, with short green hair and a face similar to Maki's, was the first to speak when she saw the Tokyo group waiting outside.
"What, did you come all the way out here to greet us?"
Her eyes narrowed with obvious disdain.
"How disgusting."
Beside her stood a tall, heavily built man with a body like a wall.
Aoi Todo looked around, then frowned in disappointment.
"Is Okkotsu not here?"
As the Kyoto students spoke, their eyes also swept over the Tokyo side.
Then, almost at the same time, their gazes landed on Yuji Itadori.
A single thought surfaced in their minds.
So this is the one we're supposed to kill?
