Chapter 28 28: Class 1-D's Situation

1 month ago · 5 min read

When he returned to the classroom, Takada Hikaru came to his seat and asked his seatmate, "Sayo, do you know any students from Class 1-D?"

The short-haired girl sitting in her seat paused, then replied after a moment of thought, "From Class 1-D, I think I only know Kushida-san."

"But Takada-san, you must know her too, right?"

Takada Hikaru nodded. "I did add her as a friend a few days ago."

The Kushida they spoke of was, in fact, Kushida Kikyo from Class 1-D. This adorable girl especially loved making friends, desiring to befriend the entire class, perhaps even the entire grade.

One day, when Takada Hikaru went to the cafeteria for lunch with Andō Sayo and others, he happened to meet Kushida Kikyo and exchanged contact information with her.

Andō Sayo said warmly, "Takada-san, if you want to do something with Class 1-D, just contact Kushida-san. She is very easy to talk to, and she's especially kind. She'll definitely be willing to help you."

Hearing what the girl said, Takada Hikaru frowned slightly. "Sayo, I believe I reminded you to remain vigilant toward Kikyo, didn't I?"

As early as the start of the school year, he had specifically emphasized that all students in Class 1-D were defective goods, recognized by the school as the dregs of society.

Especially those who appear outwardly bright and splendid—they might have done something very egregious in junior high school, which is why they were assigned to Class 1-D.

When exchanging contact information with Kushida Kikyo, Takada Hikaru reminded his friends not to treat her as a simple girl, and to always remember that she was a student in Class 1-D, meaning she must have committed a serious offense to end up there.

Andō Sayo scratched her cheek with a finger "I know, but I really can't see anything wrong with Kushida-san. But we followed your request. We haven't told her about things like the class competition, nor have we acted too close to her."

Aside from Takada Hikaru's friends, the entire Class B actually maintained vigilance toward Kushida Kikyo.

Being friends is fine, but becoming close friends who share everything? That's out of the question.

The people in Class B had already gained some understanding of just how terrible the defective goods in Class 1-D were.

On the surface, Kushida Kikyo appeared kind, had excellent grades, and was a nearly flawless girl who couldn't be faulted. This only further indicated how terrifying her internal flaws must be for her to have been assigned to Class 1-D.

"As long as you know." Takada Hikaru nodded in satisfaction.

It would be utterly foolish if, despite his reminders, the people in Class B still revealed their secrets to Kushida Kikyo.

"Takada-san, are you looking for Class 1-D? If so, wouldn't it be easier to approach Kushida-san?"

Although Andō Sayo remained vigilant toward Kushida Kikyo, everyday communication and inquiries were fine, as long as she was careful not to expose any secrets.

"I want to know about Class 1-D's situation."

Although Takada Hikaru felt that Class 1-D would most likely start with zero points, just like in the original series, for safety's sake, it was better to check Class 1-D's situation.

If his appearance caused the plot related to Class 1-D to change, then he would have to take the initiative and find a way to make Class 1-D end up with zero Class Points.

Perhaps some people would ask, 'Don't you have a system?'

With the anime perspective provided by the system, it should be easy to see Class 1-D's situation, right?

The idea was beautiful, but reality was harsh. For him, being in this world, the assessment lasted one month. But for the viewers watching the anime, it might be less than half an episode of content.

During this time, Takada Hikaru had watched the content of the first episode using the anime perspective. The result was that the content of the first episode hadn't even finished filming.

The first half of the episode covered the bus seat transfer, self-introductions, and Sudō Ken at the convenience store.

The second half covered the club orientation and the swimming class.

There were still 8 minutes left. If there was no ending theme, these few minutes should depict Class 1-D's situation. The content of these few minutes would likely be selected from the entire month of class time. It might be today, or it might be the last day of the month.

If he waited for the anime to update the plot, Takada Hikaru estimated he wouldn't have time to intervene and correct things.

"So Takada-san wants to know about Class 1-D's situation."

Hearing what he said, Andō Sayo nodded thoughtfully, then said, "In that case, I'll help you go ask Kushida-san."

"Are you sure?"

Seeing her volunteer, Takada Hikaru was a little surprised.

Andō Sayo smiled. "Aren't Takada-san and I friends? It's what friends should do. Besides, Kushida-san and I are both girls, so talking will be more natural and won't arouse her suspicion."

If Hikaru, as a boy, suddenly contacted Kushida Kikyo and started talking about class discipline, it might make her suspicious.

But if Sayo communicated with Kushida Kikyo, she could start the topic from many angles and then casually bring up class discipline, minimizing Kushida Kikyo's suspicion.

"Then I'll leave it to you, Sayo." Hikaru said gratefully.

Hearing his thanks, Andō Sayo's face flushed slightly. "I'm happy to be able to help Takada-san too."

Taking advantage of the long break time during noon, Andō Sayo used her phone to contact Kushida Kikyo.

After discussing many topics, they finally got to the most concerning issue: class discipline.

"Kushida-san said that during Class 1-D's lessons, many people were whispering and playing on their phones. Some girls were putting on makeup with small mirrors, and the boys sitting in the back were shouting loudly. In addition to that, some people frequently skip class."

Seeing the message on her phone, Andō Sayo's eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she said worriedly, "Kushida-san's class is so precarious. If this continues, the points they receive next month will definitely be very low."

Seeing that she had grown sympathetic, Takada Hikaru reminded her, "Sayo, please don't tell them about the class competition."

"I know."

Andō Sayo nodded, then tapped the keys on her phone, continuing her communication with Kushida Kikyo.

After continuing to chat about a few irrelevant topics, Andō Sayo found an excuse that she had something to do and ended the conversation.

"Takada-san, did I help you?"

After ending the communication with Kushida Kikyo, Andō Sayo looked expectantly at the man beside her.

"Thank you. Sayo, you were a great help." Hikaru replied gratefully.

Knowing that Class 1-D was still as hopeless as in the original series, he was at ease.
