Chapter 213: Level 3 Bionic Armor? I’ll Just Hammer You to Death

5 days ago · 8 min read

’All that yapping. He’s clearly a big shot. Might as well toss him in the Melting Furnace and be done with it.’

As soon as Qi Suian stepped out, he saw a figure surrounded by numerous Elders, still chattering about something.

He didn’t pay them much mind. The Tai Sui God executed a dive-and-grab combo, smoothly tossing the figure into the Melting Furnace.

After that, they started yelling "Enemy attack!" and began firing their energy weapons.

But faced with the Tai Sui God’s speed, their attacks couldn’t land a single hit.

Even if a shot did connect, it couldn’t penetrate the defenses of the Dragon and Tiger Primordial Divine Force.

Qi Suian had no intention of stopping. After grabbing that first Elder, he proceeded to snatch up the rest, one by one, and throw them all into the Melting Furnace.

Because of the close quarters, the Pure-blooded Warriors didn’t dare to act, terrified they would hit an Elder by mistake.

The Elders did consider fighting back, but it was too late.

As more of them were captured, the remaining Elders grew fearful and turned to flee.

They didn’t even dare to look back.

But their speed, well, it was pathetic. They didn’t get far before becoming fuel.

It could only be said that these people had grown far too weak from their pampered lifestyles.

"Hard to go from riches to rags," Qi Suian muttered.

To be honest, with the dual attributes the Elders possessed, if they had been willing to unite and defend themselves together...

...the Tai Sui God truly wouldn’t have been able to so easily crush the Second Elder teams from the various Sanctuaries.

However, such a thing was naturally easier said than done.

Especially since this group of Second Elders operated on a strict hierarchy.

The higher a Sanctuary’s level, the higher that Second Elder’s status was in this joint force.

Thus, they could never truly work together, as each had their own ulterior motives.

’They still have a trick up their sleeve?’ Qi Suian thought after netting the last of the Elders, only to see the Pure-blooded Warriors launch a direct attack.

They hadn’t lost their focus after losing their commanders as he had expected.

"As expected of the mutant who could crack combat armor encryption and build a suit that rivals a Level 3 Fire Seed Armor."

"If we hadn’t prepared a decoy beforehand, you might have actually broken through with that pack of bastards from the Steel Brotherhood."

A voice, dripping with mockery, drew closer from a distance.

"I get the trap, but... your Fire Seed Armor isn’t inside a Sanctuary, so you can only use its basic functions, right?" Qi Suian said, looking at the horseless knight in the distance.

The first stage of awakening involved a mount, but this opponent didn’t even have a horse. He could only be in his basic form.

He couldn’t even unleash his awakening skills. What gave him the right to strut around so arrogantly before him?

"Hahaha, take a closer look! This is no Fire Seed Armor." The man’s laughter was full of arrogance. "You should have heard of the armor I’m wearing..."

As his voice faded, he burst forward with incredible speed, closing the distance to Qi Suian in an instant.

"This is Bionic Armor from a Level 1 Sanctuary!"

He drew a Two-Handed Sword and lunged at Qi Suian.

"Even without my awakened form or awakening skills, this Bionic Armor can unleash the power of a Level 3 Fire Seed Armor, even outside a Sanctuary."

"The power of a Pure-blood is something an unclean mongrel like you could never comprehend!"

By the end, his voice had risen to a furious roar.

CLANG~

The Tai Sui God’s hand easily blocked his attack.

"I know, I know. Keep your voice down," Qi Suian said casually.

The Tai Sui God now was not the same as before. Its armor value had reached 53 points, reaching a whole new level.

During this time, the power of all its SSS-rank modules had undergone a qualitative transformation.

It was true that it couldn’t beat a Level 3 Fire Seed Armor before, but that was then, and this is now.

Just think of how many Fire Seeds Qi Suian had fed the Tai Sui God as fuel.

A Level 3 Fire Seed Armor was no longer a match for it.

To guarantee a win, you’d need at least a Level 2 Fire Seed Armor.

"What! This is impossible!!!" The Pure-blood’s face was a mask of utter shock.

According to their intel, Qi Suian’s ’Steel Armor’ was only comparable to a Level 3 Fire Seed Armor.

But now it had effortlessly caught his all-out strike. This meant the intelligence was wrong.

"Nothing’s impossible. You guys can improve, so why can’t I?" Qi Suian felt a little speechless.

He was the protagonist, after all. It was already generous of him not to rely on the plot making his rival prodigies stupidly stagnant.

To actually expect him not to grow stronger was simply defying the natural order of things.

"I’m curious. A Level 2 Sanctuary shouldn’t be able to manufacture Bionic Armor, right?"

"And normally, Bionic Armor manufactured by a Level 1 Sanctuary should be on par with a Level 2 Fire Seed Armor."

"This Level 3 Bionic Armor of yours... a Level 1 Sanctuary must have built it for you on contract," Qi Suian said, but the Tai Sui God’s attacks didn’t stop.

Although he didn’t know this man’s origins, he was certain of one thing: both the Bionic Armor and the man himself were of immense value.

Capturing him alive would be a handsome profit for Qi Suian.

Under the Tai Sui God’s offensive, the enemy was steadily forced back. While not completely powerless, he could only block one attack for every four or five he took.

At the same time, due to the "Newbie Player’s Armor Break" effect, the Bionic Armor began to show various signs of damage.

"Stop! If you don’t stop, all the mutants in the mutant camp will be slaughtered!"

"If you go back to rescue them now, you still have a chance to protect the other mutants." He was simply no match for the Tai Sui God and could only try to talk his way out.

Qi Suian nodded. "You’re right."

And that was it.

He couldn’t care less about the so-called mutant camp.

Especially now that they could no longer provide him with sufficient benefits, all ties between them were severed.

So not only did his assault not stop, it intensified.

"How about this: you surrender to me, and I’ll spare your life," Qi Suian said, turning the tables and offering terms.

The main reason was that if the fight continued, he would certainly win, but the Bionic Armor on his opponent would definitely not survive intact.

The Tai Sui God’s modules were never lacking in attack power, and now with the armor-breaking buff, it was especially effective against defensive equipment.

"Pah! You’re just an unclean mongrel, you think you’re worthy of my surrender?!" The man rejected the offer on the spot without a shred of hesitation.

"What a man of iron will!" Qi Suian praised him sarcastically. "I just love your personality type."

"You’ll surely make for some potent fuel in the Melting Furnace."

Since the man was unwilling to surrender, Qi Suian’s hands were tied.

Capturing him alive was too difficult, so his only option was to kill him and toss him into the Melting Furnace.

As for his value? That was all predicated on Qi Suian actually being able to claim it.

Otherwise, if something had value that he couldn’t obtain, it was better to just kill it and turn it into fuel.

Being short-sighted wasn’t a good thing, but when you couldn’t even guarantee your own survival in the present, why worry about the long term?

Once you’re dead, it’s all over.

So it wasn’t that Qi Suian didn’t consider the future; rather, he had to secure his own life first before he even had the right to talk about it.

The Evil Dragon roared along with the Tai Sui God’s assault as Qi Suian channeled Feast Energy into the Tai Sui God through his Virus Bloodline Graft.

In that instant, the man’s expression changed.

He could clearly feel the terrifying aura of the Evil Dragon rushing toward him.

He knew that if it hit him, not even the Level 3 Bionic Armor could save his life.

The Evil Dragon Power was an effect created by multiple modules. Like "Newbie Player’s Life," it was a special effect, but because it wasn’t part of a complete system, it didn’t have a straightforward visual representation.

It also required the AI to channel it through the modules, but this didn’t mean it was weak. On the contrary, it was even more powerful.

"Wait, I surren—" At this point, he couldn’t care less about dignity or superiority; he scrambled to surrender.

But it was too late.

You only realize you need to turn when you’re about to hit the tree. You only think to wipe your nose once it’s already dripping.

It’s easy to launch an attack, but retracting or stopping it is another matter entirely.

He didn’t even get to finish his words of surrender before the Evil Dragon pierced through his body. The scene was too gruesome to watch.

To be fair, though, the Level 3 Bionic Armor was certainly sturdy. Even after being heavily debuffed by armor break and taking a hit from the Evil Dragon Force, it wasn’t shattered beyond recognition.

As for the man inside the Level 3 Bionic Armor... well, his skin was perfectly preserved. The bones, flesh, and organs inside were a bit of a scrambled mess, but that’s fine—the skin didn’t break!

"Charge! All of you, charge!" Kemp roared, his face contorted. At first glance, he seemed to be leading the charge, but in reality, he was using the local mutants as cannon fodder to preserve the elite forces of the Steel Brotherhood.

"I’ve found the weak point. We break through immediately," Cummings whispered, moving closer.

The Pure-blooded Warriors’ attack had been incredibly sudden. It shouldn’t have come so quickly, yet it had nearly caught them completely off guard.

If they hadn’t made prior preparations, they would have been wiped out by the first volley.

"What about Jack? Any news?" Kemp asked, unable to accept it, even though he knew there wouldn’t be an answer.

For this, his heart was bleeding.

Not only had their plan to expand north failed, but even if they managed to return to the south, they would have to sacrifice a large number of their elite troops.

More importantly, they hadn’t gotten their hands on the technology.

"No, he’s vanished." Cummings’s reply didn’t surprise Kemp. "But one thing is certain: the Pure-blooded Warriors’ premature attack is related to Jack."

"Forget about all that. Take the elites. We’ll move toward the weak point in the encirclement. Don’t alert them," Kemp said.

The "them" he referred to were, of course, the native northern mutants.

"Alright, I’ll arrange it at once." Cummings had no other thoughts at this point; his mind was completely focused on breaking through with his men.

As for Qi Suian, a.k.a. Jack? The man was nowhere to be found, so worrying was useless. Besides, he wasn’t confident he could have persuaded him anyway.

’I hope everything goes smoothly, and we can minimize our losses,’ Kemp prayed silently. It was all he could do now.
