Chapter 1

Prologue: A walk through the capital

3 weeks ago · 8 min read

“Watch where you’re goin!" Having roughly bumped into the man’s shoulder, she'd already turned around, ready to apologize—

”Tch, damn academy brats.” Muttered the large, soot-stained man, having now noticed her uniform.

The man turned and abruptly walked away, and she realized she'd lost her chance to apologize. She tried to fight back her embarrassment, but failed to do so. She bit down on her lower lip and felt her cheeks and pointy ears grow hot.

She quickly and embarrassedly walked away and when she felt that she'd gotten far away enough from the scene she let out a tantrum that was more befitting a kid than a young adult like her.

Aaargh! They all looked at me like I was about to say some snobby crap only a stupid little noble would! I didn’t do anything! I tried to apologize! But he wouldn’t let me...

She’d made a conscious effort in trying to look normal, but sadly, while not at all unexpectedly, it was proving to be a very worthless effort.

After all the academy uniform she was wearing wasn’t something you’d see someone normal wear. The uniform in question no doubt cost more than the common laborer’s yearly pay. It was, at the end of the day, the uniform of the top and most prestigious Magic Academy within the Empire.

Luxurious and expensive uniform aside, there was something else about the girl that had made it easy for everyone to assume that she was just another snobby, naive little brat living her life easy in privilege. She was beautiful, and strikingly so. The kind of elegant beauty making everyone instantly assume she was someone of the highest nobility. Surely a princess, or an archduke’s daughter.

She had radiant lavender hair which reached down just enough to brush her delicate shoulders, framing her cute pout-soft lips and dainty upturned nose. Her wide, doe-like eyes with her amber irises shined like melted gold. Her long and pointed ears only strengthened the impression... She lived in a different world.

This was the conclusion they all had come to after seeing her, until they took note of something else about her, and that was. Her height. She was short... Very short, in a cute and petite way. Elves where generally taller than Humans, but this girl, standing straight and upright the top of her head would probably not even be able to reach the average Human male’s clavicles.

The people also realized after having seen her, that they had not spotted her earlier in the crowd. No, it was rather that they had just not been able to. She was shorter than almost every single adult on the street, except some of the hunched over elderly folk. Standing only truly taller than the young children running about.

Given her height and ravishing looks, people thought she looked more like a lovely, pretty little doll than anything else, looking as if she’d weigh no more than a sack of potatoes. Someone that people would want to hold tight and cherish, never let go.

...People quickly, changed their minds.

Because after paying further attention to the Elf they were left dumbfounded, there was something even more noteworthy about her, besides her unimpressive height and otherworldly looks. And after noticing this they could only conclude that this, could be no cute, innocent Elf. Her very own body betrayed that about her.

Going down past her pretty face, the picture of innocence yet remained. She had a very slender neck, narrow shoulders. And a very modest chest, the gentle curve of it barely pressing outwards against the front of her academy uniform. It was the kind of figure that confirmed every assumption her face had already invited. Petite. Delicate. A small and pretty little thing packaged neatly into an expensive uniform.

She sported a very slim waist made even smaller by courtesy of the corset-bodice atop her white blouse. She had the light and compact build of someone who ate very carefully and trained enough to stay agile while also maintaining enough muscle-mass without putting on any unnecessary weight.

But what baffled them entirely, what made both the young and grown adults alike, walk into each other and forget where they were going. was what waited below her waist.

The hips proudly announced themselves first. Wide and generous and completely disproportionate to the narrow waist above them, sweeping outward in a way that made people second guess if what they were seeing could possibly be true. Her hips had a mesmerizing, fluid rhythm to their natural sway that commanded attention.

These hips had absolutely no right existing on someone this small and soft-looking.

And below them, thick thighs. Not fat, but lush and deliciously thick. The kind that rubbed together with every step, thighs you could bury your fingers in. Thighs, that anyone with a working brain would replace their softest pillows with. The kind of thighs, someone in the crowd thought, they wouldn’t mind losing their afternoon between.

Having hit the absolute jackpot in being allowed to hug these thighs, some people thought, not being embarrassed in the slightest of being jealous over the leather. Were her black leather trousers. That had been stitched together by someone who very clearly hadn’t understood what it would eventually have to contain.

The seams were holding. Heroically, surely the work of magic, some thought.

And then, above her thighs, cradled between the extreme flare of her hips.

Was... well...

Her substantial and very voluptuous posterior. With a clear visible firmness to it but still undeniably soft-looking, sitting between the wide flare of her hips in a perfect deep heart-curve, a heart-shape that the stretched leather traced faithfully and worshipfully but without mercy. Without any mercy whatsoever.

Her rear moved with each of the short Elf’s small and demure steps in its own slow, deep rhythm. It didn't bounce exactly. It was something more of a ripple that eventually settled . A slow, jelly-like and very profound ripple that began at the very top and worked its way down slowly, over and over.

All in all, a butt like that clearly belonged somewhere else. On someone else. On Someone completely aware of the weapon they were carrying and intent to make full use of it.

It belonged in a shady, dim, candle-lit room full of silk sheets that charged heavy gold by the hour, and not on a public cobblestone street on a bright and sunny day, attached to a short, beautiful Elf with stars in her eyes who had just mouthed a genuine heartfelt apology to a pigeon she'd nearly stepped on.

A middle-aged merchant. Rested his chin on both of his hands, elbows leaning on his stall. And appeared to be deep in thought. He thought, with great and immense feeling, watching the Elf walk past. That is illegal... That should be illegal... I am going to write to someone about that...

The only races who could possibly perform such an anatomical miracle, were perhaps the Fae and those of the demon race accepted within most city walls and deemed as a general non-threat to the empire — Succubi, both with their innate shapeshifting abilities. But even those abilities had certain limits, limits they would clearly need to break in order to reach the Elf’s newly set standard for womanly perfection.

This shocking disparity between her innocent beauty and her hypnotizing ass, had many people struggling.

I-is is she for REAL!? I-Is that—oh but by the SAINTS—

O-on a girl like that?! O-on a girl with such an innocent face, like that!??

Just...LOOK, at it! Look at the sway of her VULGAR hips! H-has she NO SHAME?! NONE?!... AT ALL?!

The AUDACITY! A-acting like she’s not walking—no, MAKING IT, move like that on purpose!

...

...B-but uhm... I mean... Just how a-amazing would it feel to be lucky enough to be smothered against a wall by that! O-ohh. By the Saints! Just imagining her sitting on me —

Completely unaware of the havoc she was causing behind her, she walked on. Humming softly to herself and imagining all the different kinds of companions she'd meet, the adventures she'd embark on, the struggles she and her future academy friends would have to valiantly overcome.

The world around her had other things to focus on.

Behind her a man walked straight into a fruit stall. The next thing he was aware of was the ground. Then fruit. Then a voice above him, saying something he didn’t catch.

The man looked up with a slow and genuine confusion, nodding faintly even though he still wasn't hearing a word while being unable to account for the last several seconds of his life.

An elderly priest was standing several feet away, clutching his staff tightly. The priest looked at the Elf once. Then again. Then a third time, this time slower, deliberately, like a man rereading a letter hoping he'd read it wrong somehow.

He hadn't.

Afterwards, he wore the expression of a betrayed man, one who had lived a devout, chaste and honest sixty years, now feeling as if it had all been an elaborate joke at his expense.

He stood still for a moment. His hands moved to his neck and his fingers found the familiar shape by instinct. He tore it free and looked down at it with empty eyes, like he couldn’t recognize it anymore.

He dropped it to the ground and walked away.

Slumped against the wall of a nearby alley sat a man who lately, had been having the absolute worst years of his life. Unkempt, unshaven, his dirty face buried in his hands and scratching his greasy hair. He had tried, had tried hard, and countless times. But ultimately it was all for nothing. His efforts — had amounted to nothing. He — had amounted to nothing. He — was nothing.

With a weight he could no longer carry, he had decided: T od ay. Today's the day ... There's no purpose anymore...

By chance, he glanced up.

A short Elf walked past.

He watched. He did not blink. He followed her with his eyes.

And then after, with the calm, unhurried certainty of a man who had just received a message from something much larger than himself, he pushed himself to his knees on the rough cobblestones.

He clasped his hands firmly as his face tilted slowly up to the sky.

Thank you, he said to the skies, with a quiet but overwhelming clarity.

Thank you. I think I understand now.

He rose a man with a renewed sense of purpose. He straightened his tattered coat and set his jaw. A faint, resolute smirk touched his dry, blistered lips as he looked to the sky once more, as if he could see something up there others couldn't.

He turned sharply and strode off with unwavering conviction.

The Elf then walked past a very well-dressed, elegant and beautiful noblewoman, who now stood perfectly still, her eyes wide staring straight ahead at nothing.

The noblewoman didn’t dare to turn her head around. Terrified of what she might see. What she might have to accept.

She was frozen perfectly still, cold sweat running down her back. Small, shivers moved through her despite the warmth of the afternoon sun.

Her chin trembled.

How is that possible...

It was a small, pathetic thought.

She felt smaller than she’d ever felt.

The Elf was completely oblivious to everything happening behind her. She walked on, humming cheerfully with a dreamy expression on her face. Her thoughts drifting between dragons, shortcake and whether Orcs would prefer tea or coffee.
