Chapter 47

Second Form, Godspeed Slash…

3 weeks ago · 3 min read

"In the meantime, let's enjoy ourselves, shall we?"

Galen almost gagged hearing that but his face betrayed no emotion on the surface.

Unsheathing his sword, Black Fang, Galen said plainly,

"Are you done?"

His words were like a slap in the face to the fox Demigod.

No mortal ever dared to talk to him like this with such a condescending tone.

Wearing a cold smile, that didn't quite reach his eyes, Kaizen declared.

"You are a disrespectful brat it seems. That's fine though. After I'm done with you, you will be begging me on your knees to end your life."

A long whip appeared in his hands as he finished his sentence.

The three meter tall bull Demigod, Borruk, who had been silent this whole time, also took out his weapon—a massive hammer—and prepared for the coming battle.

He knew that Galen was a mortal of course and two Demigods ganging up on him doesn't seem to be necessary.

But orders were orders.

Since he was asked to deal with him by his boss, that's what he is going to do.

By now, his boss, Rudolf Henry was already halfway to the Earth.

Galen, after making sure there was enough distance between them and the peak Demigod, crouched down a bit and held his sword in a sword draw stance.

Seeing his battle ready posture, the fox Demigod—Kaizen—laughed in disdain and brandished his whip, and sent it lashing out at him.

Just then, Kaizen heard a soft mutter leave Galen's lips.

"Forgotten God's Battle Arts,"

"Second Form,"

Though he didn't know what that meant and what was coming, Kaizen's instincts screamed at him to run, but it was too late.

Just as the cracker of Kaizen's whip was about to lacerate him, Galen vanished and appeared behind him.

Only a faint trail of mana connecting the two positions was any indication that he had actually moved so fast that they couldn't even catch a glimpse of his movements rather than him straight up teleporting.

"Godspeed Slash."

This one, Kaizen heard clearly as a thin red line slowly appeared on his neck, extending diagonally to his right chest and right arm.

'Im-impossible.'

'I am... Demigod.'

'How could I... die ...at the hands of a mere mortal no less.'

That was the last thought of the lecherous fox, before his head along with a portion of his right chest, and right arm, slid down from his body and began floating in the vast space together with his thick viscous blood, now clumped together as crimson spheres.

A series of notifications echoed in Galen's mind after his death.

[ You have killed a Demigod(Early). ]

[ You have earned a lot of exp. ]

[ You have leveled up. ]

[ You have leveled up. ]

...

[ You have reached level 10. ]

[ Since you haven't completed your rank promotion quest, you can't raise your levels anymore. ]

[ As such, the remaining exp will be discarded. ]

It was one of the things Galen hated with his system.

Unless he promotes his class, no matter how strong a foe he killed, most of the exp will be lost in the end.

'Well, no matter.'

Deciding not to dwell on it, Galen grabbed Kaizen's whip, now floating beside him after his death and asked the system.

"Hey Beth. Is it okay if I kill a Demigod instead of an Epic rank monster for my class quest?"

[ Certainly, master.~ ]

"Then, I'll be using this whip to finish that final task."

[ Okay, master. ]

Even though Galen had already killed a Demigod, it didn't count, since he had used his sword—which he had registered for completing the first task—to kill him.

'Let's finish this fast. Or else I will be in deep trouble.'

Galen thought to himself, looking at the Peak Demigod, turning back midway and returning even faster than before after sensing one of his underlings suddenly die at his hands.
