The Breaking News…

Watching the man as he ran with his tail tucked between the legs, Galen smirked to himself but still made sure to monitor him with his mana sense in case he tried anything funny because of the recent humiliation.

Confirming that the man had finally departed, he turned towards the tigress beside him – His tigress.

"Good job scaring the hell out of him, darling."

"But aren't you worried that he will complain to his superiors, which might be bad for us?"

"Hmph.~"

"I know that corrupt government like the back of my hand.~"

"The ones behind the scenes won't make a move before they are sure of my current strength, just because some no name officer complained to them.~"

"Besides I only intimidated him. Maybe if I had actually attacked him, they could have used that as a premise to launch a thorough investigation on us.~"

"Sadly for them, my wife is too smart."

"Hehe.~"

Galen unceremoniously praised her, which drew a shy laugh from Rhea, who then buried her head in his chest to escape the embarrassment.

With just a few words of compliment from her handsome husband, the frost queen persona she put on from earlier had completely melted away like snow.

As the both of them cuddled together on the Sofa, Galen took out a remote from a nearby table and switched on the television, intending to learn about how the world was coping with the mana integration.

He could've done that on his phone but, it was in his pockets on the same side Rhea was tightly hugging him.

At the sound of the television turning on, Rhea also got interested and peeked at it by slightly raising her head.

Most of the channels mainly covered the extent of destruction caused by the appearance of Dimensional Gates and the rampaging monsters that had emerged from them.

But only some channels focused on the really important thing – the ticking time limit mentioned by the cosmic entity (as people call the Universal System) before Gate breaks occur all over the world.

That means after the one month time limit has ended, the world is going to experience a second apocalypse, only there will be no system to stop them even after an hour.

If nothing was done to prevent the Gate Breaks, the destruction it would cause will be a hundred times worse than what humanity has recently gone through.

Just as Galen about to switch off the TV, a sudden breaking news was getting broadcasted across all possible news platforms, including nearly all social media apps.

According to it, the presidents of all the countries across Earth had convened an emergency meeting.

The conclusion of which is that, to prevent the imminent threat of the second apocalypse, the governments of all the nations decided to handsomely reward anyone who is willing to try and clear dimensional gates.

It doesn't matter if they clear it solo or in a group, the benefits were still the same for everyone as long as they clear the monsters inside the gate and show some proof that confirms the fact. ( Material form all the monsters inside a gate or a video recording of the whole gate raid.)

It would also prevent the people from conspiring against each other to monopolize the richest while still making sure many people entered the gate together which in turn somewhat reduced the risks of death.

In the end, they even promised to compensate the families of anyone who had died in the process of trying to clear a gate.

For more than thirty minutes the news kept flashing across various forms of media, with some renowned billionaires and even the newly crowned trillionare personally making an appearance while expressing their desire to help in pushing forward the massive endeavour.

Until this moment, the total number of gates that had any visitors could be counted on one hand.

Yet within an hour of the announcement, humans from all over the world, began rushing to the nearest gates greed for wealth fully overtaking their mind.

If it had been before, with their pitiful strength, they might hesitate.

But now, with their newfound strength from the bonus five levels they got from the Universal System for surviving the initial chaos, confidence surged through their bodies.

Soon, all the gates that were found near human settlements were filled with wannabe hunters trying to kill the abominable monsters inside.

This trend lasted for two whole days that resulted in lots of gates getting cleared in a short timeframe and the time limit for the next gate break extending anywhere between two to six months.

Though as the death toll began to pile up endlessly, people finally realised that the minimal strength they had got by luck, was nowhere near enough to risk their lives facing the horrors inside the gates.

Eventually, more than ninety percent of them dropped out, leaving only ten percent of the initial enthusiasts to continue the dangerous work.

Whether it was for wealth,

For personal strength,

For excitement,

Or for revenge,

Or even simply just to escape reality,

They all had their own reasons to do so.

Meanwhile, our main characters Galen and Rhea, did nothing but eat and sleep, fully relaxing and losing themselves in each other's company, totally forgetting about the outside world and its current mayhem.

Of course, they didn't forget to fuck everytime they got even a little bit of energy to spare. It was like both of them instinctively understood that going forward, they might not be able to relax like this for a really long time.

With how fast the world was changing, even with their strength, if they stayed stagnant, everyone would eventually leave them behind.

They had to keep pushing themselves if they wanted to stay ahead of the world, even more so if their plan was to reach the peak of power in the entire universe as soon as possible.
