When the monster lashed out at her once again with its massive club, Rhea's senses only registered the attack when it was mere inches from crashing into her head with the force of a battering ram.

In that split second between life and death, her instincts took over. Unaware of what she was doing, Rhea poured all of her mana into her legs and attempted to run, only to rocket forward at an inhuman speed.

She barely stopped herself from crashing into the opposite wall at the end of her sudden dash.

Baffled by the situation, Rhea stood still for a few seconds, seconds which the Goblin Chief used to close the distance between them once again.

But this time, she was prepared.

Just as it entered her perception range, she activated one of her class–specific skills, Backstab and vanished.

Appearing behind the stunned monster gawking at the place she had just been standing before, she plunged both of her daggers into the monster's neck, one on each side, cutting through the vital structures passing inside.

Removing them the next instant, she jumped back as fast as she could, thereby avoiding the final desperate swing of the Goblin chief before it fell to its knees, clutching its neck from where blood was pouring out like a torrent.

Ignoring the boss standing on the throes of death, Rhea took note of the system notifications she received when she had suddenly accelerated while trying to escape from the monster.

She didn't need her eyes for seeing the notifications of course as the system screen is projected directly into her brain.

Information regarding the intricacies of mana manipulation began filling her mind after the final notification, enlightening her on its full usage and how powerful it can be when used at the right time.

When it finally ended, Rhea brought her right hand in front of her face and tried to create a layer of mana around it.

True to her wishes, the mana instantly responded and covered her whole hand with a transparent layer.

As she tried to cut the layer, even her uncommon rank daggers with their sharpness, couldn't even form a nick on the barrier.

Elated at her findings, next she infused the mana in her muscles and tested various movements, getting dumbfounded at how much of a boost it brought to her strength and agility.

The only issue was that it consumed an insane amount of mana which she had only a limited amount of, meaning she won't be able to use it in all of her battles.

Not to mention, she needs the mana for executing her skills too, like the Backstab she had just used to defeat the boss monster.

Meanwhile Galen, who had been just moments away from intervening in her battle, froze mid motion with his right arm still hanging in the air.

'How is that possible?'

'Am I seeing things right now?'

'According to my estimate,she was still supposed to undergo a lot of intense training before she could even think of trying to manipulate the mana.'

'So, why is it that she is standing there casually, playing with it as if it had suddenly become her second nature?'

'Ugh...'

[ Fufufu... Who knew even my godly master could get shocked sometimes, especially by a mortal? ]

".... Kuhum..."

Loudly clearing his throat to chase away the awkwardness, Galen responded to the teasing of his mischievous system.

"My Dear Beth, It's true that I'm somewhat amazed by her monstrous talent, almost comparable to myself in my past life, almost..."

"But it's only to be expected since she is the woman, chosen by yours truly as his future wife."

Beth, AI of the Forgotten God's System, fell silent for a few minutes, shocked at how shameless her master could be when it comes to bragging.

But then,

[ Can you swear that you didn't choose her because of her sexy body ? ]

It was Galen's turn to fall silent.

"... That's not the only reason though."

He tried to put forward a weak argument.

Only to get shot down the next instant.

Deciding that arguing with her anymore was not worth it, he ignored her and went towards Rhea, who was still basking in the sudden all powerful feeling she got from being able to manipulate the miraculous energy which is mana.

While walking, a sudden wicked thought sprang into his mind.

Masking his presence, he moved like a ghost and reached the spot behind Rhea's back without her notice.

Smiling like a devil, he whispered to her ear, his hot breath tickling her sensitive skin.

"Does it feel good?"

"KyyaaAAHH...."

Letting out a weird scream, Rhea jumped like a startled cat, her hands instinctively moving towards his neck from all her years of experience, trying to incapacitate the unknown individual who had all of a sudden intruded into her personal space.

Grabbing her mana coated wrist with his bare hands without much effort, Galen chuckled.

"Whoa... Whoa... Easy there."

"You are not planning to become a widow by killing your own man now, are you?"

For a moment, Rhea was stunned.

She looked at his face.

At her hands, held by his own.

Then she looked at his face once again.

After infusing her hands with mana, her strength stat more than doubled.

Despite that, he casually stopped her full powered attack like handling a mere child.

Disbelieving the unreal sight in front of her,

She blinked once... Then twice...

And then....

"Damn it, Galen !~"

"Just how the f*uck are you still so strong?~"
