Chapter 1789: Loki’s Play

1 day ago · 5 min read

"..." All of them looked at each other, while Odin just covered his face. Even in this situation, Loki just wanted to play around.

Fortunately, he wanted to play with the aliens, not them.

"Just the thought of them winning so easily pisses me off, so I don’t want to let them succeed." Loki scoffed. "Will that be enough for you?"

The Jade Emperor closed his eyes and let out a long breath. "Indeed. That’s enough for now."

"Well, that’s the gist of my plan. By allowing us to create a summoning system, we will be able to rejoin the fight."

"However, won’t it be impossible? Even if we fight with all of us, we can’t succeed. The summoning system you will create won’t be enough to handle them since it’ll probably only allow a few of us to be summoned."

"I know. That’s why I need to prepare three things. The first thing is the full war. By sending our planet away, all of us will disappear, and our stories will become myths. Hence, we need to make the ending befitting for all of us."

"!!!" They looked at each other.

Nathan was stunned when he heard this. "Each mythology has its own endings. Looking at them, it looks like Ragnarok is just an ending that has been created. Some of them will probably bring everything they have to fight the aliens so that they will disappear somewhere instead of destroying themselves..."

Nathan’s prediction was correct. Loki raised one finger. "We will create one last assault to kill as many creatures as possible. This will give future generations a chance to win against them. Of course, I think you know what to do, especially for those who have been branded."

Vishnu smiled gently. "For us who have been branded, if we store our information, the information about the brand will be stored as well. So, it’ll be a foolish move to summon us.

"That’s why those of us who have been branded need to die. That’s the only way. In that case, make sure that we take as many of them with us.

"However, to avoid the enemy knowing about our plan, you’re going to remove this memory, right? In that case, how are we meant to sacrifice ourselves?"

Loki nodded. "I will create a trap where we have no choice but to sacrifice ourselves. I need the four of you to think about the conditions where you have no choice but to sacrifice yourselves. I will create the trap that will lead to that situation."

"What?" Nathan gasped. "I heard about the trap, but I thought it was from the aliens. It was actually from Loki?"

Vishnu nodded in understanding. "If that’s the case, I can agree to that."

"Indeed." Quetzalcoatl agreed.

"Well, the second thing we need to prepare for is the future generation. Even with all our power, we can’t defeat them. In that case, we will have to combine even more abilities into one so that we can defeat them. This is how we’re going to survive."

The Jade Emperor realized what he wanted. "You want to combine other worlds as well?"

"Yes." Loki answered without hesitation.

"You madman..."

"You can’t be sane if you want to defeat the singularity." Loki shrugged.

"Suppose we agree to this. In that case, what is the third condition?"

"That is by bringing in an unknown variable. We are going to let our world develop for a long time. Hopefully, this will allow them to create a civilization much stronger than before.

"The candidate who comes from this world will be the one to remember all of us." Loki explained.

"Ah?!" Nathan didn’t expect that role. Bringing the knowledge of mythologies from Earth to this world. In other words, he should leave behind this knowledge before he goes to fight the black cell."

"Still, the world won’t be powerful enough to withstand the jump." Quetzalcoatl frowned.

"We will need a lot of things as well, including energy," Odin agreed.

"In that case, should we leave behind the authorities of beasts? We will divide our existence into two. The first one is those who look like humans. The second one is those who are considered beasts or other creatures. By using the power of the second one, we can create a layer of protection," the Jade Emperor suggested.

"That might be the only way. But if someone leaves that world, that protection might disappear or get carried by that person." Vishnu shook his head helplessly.

"Well, does it really matter? We can only do this once. As long as our information is remembered, the plan will work." Odin crossed his arms.

"Maybe. I think this is worth trying. Rather than waiting to die, it’s better to leave it to future generations. We won’t give up." Vishnu gave his approval.

Loki raised two fingers. "Those who have been branded will have their memories removed. Please give your approval before that. Those who aren’t branded will have their memories intact. At that time, we will create a second meeting like this to discuss the details on how to proceed with my plan."

Even though they were convinced, they still needed time to think before making a decision. This was a decision that would change their entire future, after all.

They would make a grave sin to all the gods and living beings on Earth.

However, they might not have any other chance of defeating the black cell than this one.

Vishnu nodded. "I give you my approval. I will bear that sin."

Jade Emperor sighed. "I will also give you my approval. Let the sin of murdering my people be carried by me alone."

Quetzalcoatl agreed. "I approve of your plan as well. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to talk with my brother one last time."

"Since everyone agrees, I will also approve." Marduk nodded. "To ensure that this plan succeeds, we also need to kill those strong gods under us. This way, they will be able to be summoned without the brands. I’m sorry for Tiamat, but she will be needed for this plan."

Loki couldn’t help but smile. With the four of them, who had been branded, approving the plan, there was no reason for the others to hesitate.

Loki suddenly turned around and shifted his vision as though he were looking at Nathan.

"!!!" Nathan was startled. "Did he—"

It might be due to that gaze, but the space suddenly collapsed.

"NO!" Nathan shouted, but it turned out he had just risen from his bed after passing out from using the Dimension Ascension.
