Chapter 31— A Father-in-law

3 weeks ago · 16 min read

Victor Voss woke to pain.

Every inch of his body screamed in protest, a deep, grinding ache that radiated from his bones outward. His ribs felt cracked, his shoulders dislocated in at least two places, and something warm and wet trickled down the side of his face. Blood, probably.

He tried to move, but even the smallest twitch sent fresh agony lancing through him.

His last clear memory surged back in jagged pieces.

He was deep in the wilderness on a high-level Gate mission when an emergency broadcast came through his comms, an S-rank Gate had opened in the heart of his city, where he lived with his sons and daughter-in-law.

Gates were never supposed to open inside a city. Each urban area was equipped with costly spatial jamming devices precisely to prevent that from happening. The only explanation was that someone had deactivated them. But Victor didn’t have time to dwell on it.

Victor had abandoned the mission without a second thought. He burned every ounce of his S-rank speed, tearing across the landscape in a blur of mana and desperation. He had to reach them. He had to.

When he finally entered the devastated downtown district, his S-rank vision pierced the smoke and distance, allowing him to glimpse the horrific scene far ahead. What he saw there nearly stopped his heart.

Daniel, his eldest, was hurled skyward like a ragdoll. The Quantum Gauntlet on his right arm sparked and flew free, clattering across shattered concrete.

A heartbeat later Ethan slammed into a concrete wall hard enough to crater it. Blood sprayed from his mouth as he slid down, barely conscious.

Both boys lay broken on the ground, chests heaving weakly.

A humanoid creature almost four meters tall towered over them. It was a strange mix of an ancient dragon and a dark insect, with shiny black scales covering its hard shell. Its long, thin arms ended in huge claws shaped like sickles, and a sharp, spiked tail swung behind it. A Nexaroth. An S-rank boss.

Its claws raised to finish Daniel.

Victor’s eyes were bloodshot, he was still too far away.

And he saw her; his daughter-in-law came into his sight.

Bella burst through the shattered entrance of the Quantum Nexus building.

She wore nothing but a sheer black babydoll that clung to her sweat-slicked curves, the hem barely brushing the tops of her thighs. Her bare feet slapped against rubble as she sprinted straight toward the monster, toward her husband.

On her way she snatched Daniel's fallen gauntlet from the ground.

The device whirred, clicked, and reshaped itself with a mechanical hiss, locking perfectly onto her small, delicate hand.

She screamed, voice raw and trembling but fierce.

"Don't touch my husband!"

A brilliant lance of quantum energy erupted from the gauntlet, slamming into the boss's descending claw and forcing the strike to veer just enough to miss Daniel by inches.

The monster turned its burning gaze on her.

She was no Hunter. No awakened. Just a soft, gentle girl who loved too deeply.

Yet the sheer pressure radiating from an S-rank boss crushed down on her like an invisible mountain.

It wasn't pain.

It was annihilation pressing inward, grinding every instinct, every fragile thread of courage into dust.

Her knees buckled instantly.

She dropped hard onto the broken concrete with a wet slap, legs spreading wide in reflex. The position would have shamed her if she could still think clearly.

Her small body jerked violently, back arching as if trying to escape itself. Every muscle tensed and spasmed uselessly.

Her mouth hung open in a silent scream—lips trembling, tongue quivering. Only small, broken whimpers came out, more like an animal than a person.

Then, without warning, her bladder gave way.

Warm urine surged out in helpless pulses, soaking the sheer black babydoll. The thin fabric turned transparent over her mound, clearly outlining her shaved pussy. Hot liquid sprayed in weak arcs before running in thick streams down the insides of her pale thighs. A dark stain spread quickly on the cracked pavement beneath her.

Each spurt jerked her hips forward, lifting her ass slightly off her heels as her body recoiled from the shame.

She sobbed harder—wet, shaking heaves. Her heavy breasts bounced with every ragged breath, pink nipples stiff and clearly visible through the wet lace.

Even after the main flow slowed, urine kept dripping steadily from between her parted lips, pooling quietly below her.

It wasn't shame. Shame required a self that could still judge.

This was worse.

This was the animal laid bare—every trace of civilization stripped away, leaving only the raw, screaming core.

A small girl reduced to pissing herself in pure terror, yet still lifting one shaking arm toward the sky. The oversized Quantum Gauntlet looked comically large on her slender wrist.

She couldn’t speak. Only high, broken, breathless cries escaped—sounds more like a wounded kitten than a human voice.

The Nexaroth’s burning gaze stayed on Bella for only a moment—judging, then dismissing her.

To an S-rank like this, she was nothing: a fragile, trembling wreck already shattered by sheer pressure. Urine still dripped steadily from between her spread thighs, darkening the cracked concrete. Snot and tears smeared her ruined face into a wet, glistening mess. Her small body shook with every gasping breath.

Pathetic. Irrelevant.

Its focus snapped back to Daniel—the real threat. The one still breathing defiance through bloodied limbs and cracked ribs. The claw lifted again—higher, slower, deliberate—poised for one final, crushing blow.

Bella saw it.

Her sapphire eyes, glassy and unfocused, widened in animal panic. A thin, broken whimper tore from her throat.

“…no…”

Her right arm—slender, quivering, drenched in cold sweat—had never lowered.

The Quantum Gauntlet whined, already priming.

She forced her will through the drowning terror.

First shot.

A brilliant lance of pure quantum energy burst from her palm and slammed into the boss’s rising forearm. The blast scorched scales black and shoved the claw sideways by a few critical inches. The monster snarled—annoyed, not truly wounded.

The recoil struck Bella like a hammer. Her body snapped backward as if kicked hard in the shoulder. Her soaked babydoll clung tight as her massive breasts bounced painfully; her spine arched sharply, on the verge of breaking.

Still—arm up.

The second shot hit the same forearm, burning another deep, smoking groove. The claw paused mid-swing, its momentum broken.

The recoil slammed her harder. Bella’s head snapped back, mouth open in a soundless scream. Her hips jerked forward, ass lifting off her heels. Every muscle burned. Her shoulder felt like it was collapsing inward from the brutal kickback. Black spots swam in her vision.

She kept her arm up.

The third shot grazed the monster’s elbow, slicing through chitin and making the claw jerk violently. The near-miss wind lashed her wet hair across her tear-streaked face.

The monster roared, furious now.Its head whipped toward Bella, crimson eyes burning with hatred. A crushing wave of killing intent slammed into her again, heavier and sharper than before—not casual pressure anymore, but a focused force meant to crush her completely.

Bella folded forward with a choked, guttural sob. Her torso collapsed toward the ground, forehead hovering just inches above the cold, gritty concrete—close enough to feel its rough bite on her sweat-soaked skin.

The pressure no longer spread out; it crushed straight down her spine like a heavy boot, flattening her upper body while her hips stayed locked on her heels. Her legs stayed wide apart, ass thrust high and backward in a humiliating arch as the killing intent bore down without mercy.

Every vertebra burned under the strain. Her back bowed sharply, shoulders curling in until her heavy breasts pressed painfully against her thighs, nipples scraping the wet lace with each desperate heave.

Urine burst out again in violent, rhythmic spurts—each convulsion jerking her pelvis forward, lifting her ass higher and spreading her thighs wider. Hot liquid sprayed wildly, then poured in thick sheets down the backs of her legs, pooling far behind her in a steaming, spreading stain that crept toward her raised buttocks.

Her free hand clawed at the concrete, nails scraping stone as she tried to drag herself free from the invisible weight. Shoulders shook; arms trembled so hard they seemed ready to tear from their sockets. Thick drool poured from her open mouth, tongue limp, mixing with tears and snot that dripped in steady strings onto the ground below her face.

Her wide, bloodshot sapphire eyes darted frantically before rolling back, whites flashing as her mind began to break under the crushing aura. She wasn’t just trembling—she was being torn apart, muscle by muscle, breath by ragged, choking breath that sounded more like a dying animal.

She was no longer kneeling. She was folded in half, pinned flat by pure hatred—like a butterfly crushed under glass, wings splayed, body twisted beyond recognition.

Yet her right arm still reached upward.

The oversized gauntlet rattled against her shaking bones, whining faintly—as if her sheer will alone could still fight the force trying to grind her face into the dirt.

Her trembling fingers stayed locked toward the monster.

Fourth shot.

It lanced out hitting the claw’s palm dead-center. The impact was small… but it was the final insult.

The monster’s rage exploded. It forgot Daniel completely and turned fully toward her—this tiny, soaked, worthless thing had to die first.

Bella’s body finally gave out. The gauntlet arm fell limp.

She crumpled sideways into a shaking, urine-soaked heap on the cracked pavement. Her chest rose and fell in short, panicked gasps. Yet beneath the fear, a quiet, exhausted relief spread through her trembling limbs. The monster’s full hatred was now on her—not him.

Tears, snot, and drool dripped from her chin. A final weak trickle escaped as her bladder let go completely. But the crushing weight on her soul lifted, just a little.

He was safe, at least for one more moment.

Her glazed, half-closed eyes stayed fixed on him.

And through cracked, swollen lips, the faintest whisper slipped free, “…live… please…”

Victor’s eyes blazed with unyielding fury. The air around him detonated in a supersonic boom, shockwaves spiderwebbing the fractured concrete beneath his feet. In the next heartbeat, he vanished—his S-rank speed turning him into a blurred streak of silver and black that tore through the battlefield.

BAM!

The Nexaroth’s sickle-claw struck the spot where Bella had knelt. The impact carved a deep trench in the pavement, sending cracks and chunks of concrete flying into the air.

Bella had bought them precious seconds, enough for Victor to close the impossible distance.

Victor twisted violently mid-leap, Bella already cradled securely in his arms, her tiny, quaking frame tucked flush against his chest as they cleared the crater together.

The claw missed but still grazed his back, scratching three shallow cuts through armor and skin. Hot blood welled up, soaking his torn suit. The pain was sharp but bearable. He had faced worse.

Time seemed to slow in the heartbeat after the dodge.

He pulled her even tighter, one arm locked around her waist, the other supporting beneath her thighs in a protective cradle. Her soaked babydoll clung to him like wet silk, thin black lace turned sheer and translucent, molding to every soft curve of her body.

The heavy swell of her breasts mashed warmly against his ribs with each frantic breath she took, soft weight pressing through the drenched fabric, pink nipples stiff and starkly outlined.

Warm urine still seeped from between her trembling thighs, trickling hot and intimate through the thin material, soaking steadily into his combat pants where her legs dangled against his hip.

Her rounded ass rested soft against his forearm, quivering with residual terror as he held her.

She whimpered softly against his collarbone.

“Dad…”

High, broken sounds muffled into the crook of his neck, face buried deep as though hiding from the world. Tears, snot, and drool still smeared her flushed cheeks, but in his arms she felt impossibly small, fragile, and heartbreakingly alive.

His aura snapped outward in a tight, shimmering dome, cocooning her completely as he rolled them clear of the flying debris and prepared to face the monster’s next fury.

Nexaroth’s next strike aimed directly at both of them, intending to finish them off with a single blow. Victor lifted his leg and kicked straight into the incoming punch, using the force of the impact to propel them away.

Bella’s fragile body was shielded just enough by the aura dome; the pressure waves that would have shredded her now only buffeted them like strong winds. Victor did not dare to let her go because the recoil force of the battle could easily crush her ordinary body.

The Nexaroth hissed venomously and lunged with surprising agility for its size.

Victor launched a stream of mana blades from his free hand. They cut deep, smoking wounds into the creature’s scaled flank, black ichor sizzling as it fell to the ground.

The Nexaroth recoiled for the first time, its crimson eyes narrowing with irritation rather than amusement.

It darted and weaved to avoid the other mana blades Victor launched, then, once close enough, spun swiftly and struck them with a sweeping tail attack. The razor-sharp spikes cut through the air like a guillotine.

Victor vaulted over it, using Bella's weight to spin in mid-air and strike the tail's joint with a charged fist. The bone cracked loudly, and the tail jerked back in pain.

The Nexaroth roared and unleashed a close-range spatial distortion wave from its mouth—violent violet ripples that tore at the fabric of reality itself.

Victor twisted his body to shield Bella while raising one hand to release a radiant mana sphere that collided with the monster’s violet wave.

An explosion erupted, sending Victor and Bella flying out of the dust cloud. Victor landed with a roll, protecting Bella’s head.

The distortion scraped his shoulder, cutting through his armor and leaving a shallow wound. Blood soaked his sleeve, but his arm remained steady. He gritted his teeth as the creature charged toward them once again.

The fight became a brutal dance of equals—S-rank against S-rank.

Victor weaved between sickle-claw swipes that gouged craters into the street, parrying with forearms reinforced by mana while keeping Bella tucked against his side.

He landed punishing strikes, a knee to the Nexaroth’s underbelly that cracked chitin plating, an elbow to the jaw that snapped jagged teeth, a palm strike infused with mana that scorched scales black and left smoking craters.

Each hit drew furious roars and retaliation. Acidic bursts sprayed from the creature’s maw that forced him to dodge, tail lashes that clipped his legs and left burning welts, claw rakes that opened more shallow cuts across his arms and torso.

He bled steadily now, ribs bruised, breath coming in sharp bursts, but his speed never faltered.

Bella remained silent in his arms, holding back any sound. Her soft whimpers against his neck only fueled his anger, while the tremble of her body served as a constant reminder for him to stay focused and controlled.

He adjusted, holding her one-armed when he needed both hands for a combo, shielding her with his back during close-quarters exchanges. The inconvenience sharpened his focus rather than dulled it.

The Nexaroth grew more ferocious, its attacks faster and more unpredictable.

It unleashed a chain of spatial tears, forcing Victor to teleport-dodge in rapid succession while cradling Bella. One rift clipped his thigh, deep enough to make him limp slightly.

Then, in the thick of the chaos, a thin, wavering quantum lance shot from the shadows, streaking weakly but true toward the Nexaroth’s knee joint. It struck with just enough force to crack chitin, causing the creature’s leg to buckle mid-stride and stagger it forward.

Daniel.

Almost simultaneously, a shimmering barrier, faint, cracked, barely holding together, erupted. It slammed into the Nexaroth’s back like a desperate shove, not strong enough to hurt, but enough to jolt the boss off-balance and shove its torso forward half a step.

Ethan.

The two brothers, from broken bodies, from pools of their own blood, from the very edge of unconsciousness, they poured what little remained of themselves into one final, synchronized act of defiance. No words. No heroic rise. Just two pulses of light that tore open the Nexaroth’s guard for a single, precious heartbeat, exposing the pulsing violet core at its chest.

With a guttural roar that shook the ruined street, Victor seized the sudden window.

His fist ignited with raw S-rank mana and drove straight through the Nexaroth’s armored chest into the pulsing violet core at its heart.

The impact detonated like thunder.

The Nexaroth shrieked, a sound of tearing metal and dying stars. Its body convulsed, scales shattering, limbs thrashing in death throes.

In its last fit, the Nexaroth convulsed violently, scales breaking like glass as its core cracked open. Black ichor sprayed in arcs, and its limbs thrashed blindly.

With a dying screech, it gathered its last abyssal power into a massive violet orb hovering before its chest—pulsing, unstable, crackling with violet energy.

The orb detonated forward like a cannon shot, aimed straight at Victor and Bella.

Victor spun, planting himself in front of her. His arm tightened around Bella’s trembling frame as he channeled every remaining scrap of mana into a glowing azure shield orb in his free arm.

He thrust it forward like a shield, slamming it into the violet orb.

The two orbs collided in a blinding explosion.

Reality screamed.

The orbs exploded outward in a shockwave of light and force. The unstable energies fused and tore wider—violet cracks spreading like lightning across the air, the rift expanding into a jagged, howling maw that devoured everything in its path.

The pull became irresistible.

Victor wrapped his aura around them both in a final, protective cocoon—shimmering silver-blue energy enveloping Bella’s small body like a second skin, shielding her from the worst of the void’s bite. Broken ribs ground together with every breath; blood bubbled at his lips; vision tunneled to black spots.

He held her tighter, face buried in her hair, whispering through gritted teeth, “hold on… I’ve got you…”

The world inverted in a sickening rush—up became down, sound became silence, gravity ceased to exist.

Then darkness swallowed them whole.

-

When Victor opened his eyes again, the first thing that assaulted his senses was the bone-deep cold.

Cold seeped through his torn combat gear, wrapping around his cracked ribs and making each shallow breath painful. Even after reaching S-rank, when blizzards, deserts, and heatwaves were just annoyances, this place still cut deep.

A low, steady howl came from beyond the jagged rocks, distant but ever-present. It sounded like a blizzard outside the cave, wind rushing through unseen cracks with a faint, sharp scent of snow.

The dim flicker of light barely reached him—replaced by a faint, unsteady blue-green glow pulsing erratically from right beside him, so close he could feel the faint warmth it tried to give off. Shadows jerked and twisted on the jagged rock walls like living things caught in spasms, cold and unnatural.

His head throbbed with a dull, persistent ache. Every inhale dragged sharp needles through his ribs. He lay on the rough, frozen stone, the surface biting into his back like frozen teeth.

A low, uneven hum filled the air, soft but steady, like a struggling engine. A warm, faintly sweet scent brushed against Victor’s cheek, with a subtle musky note that stirred a dizzying, primal feeling within him.

Slowly, carefully, he turned his head toward the faint, unsteady blue-green glow right next to him.

His eyes widened.

In the dim, flickering blue pulse, the first thing that filled his vision was... a plump, perfectly rounded ass. The ass pressed so close that his lightest breath stirred the warm skin. As she crouched low, the cheeks parted just enough to reveal everything openly, without effort or shame.

Deep in the cleft, the tight pink ring clenched slowly, as though surprised by the direct heat of Victor’s breath.

The delicate skin around it puckered inward, pulling the tiny opening tighter for a moment. Then it slowly relaxed, opening just enough to reveal a faint rosy flush on the soft inner rim under the blue light.

His shallow breaths brushed lightly over the sensitive skin. The tiny ring gave a single, almost imperceptible clench before relaxing completely.

The ring fluttered open a fraction wider on the next breath, almost as if inviting the warmth closer, only to clench back down again in a helpless little spasm.

So close that Victor could see every subtle crease and fold of the muscle, every faint quiver traveling outward from the center.

Lower down, between thighs that stayed close but never quite sealed, her pussy hovered open to the flickering light and to the warmth of his face.

Her outer lips, parted a little more as she shifted her weight. The slick inner folds opened slowly like petals in the blue light.

The delicate pink inner tissue caught the blue light and glistened, its tiny ridges and creases shimmering with every pulse of the glow.

Her entrance pulsed once, soft and rhythmic, matching her heartbeat. It then drew inward in a slow, needy contraction, tightening the surrounding folds before releasing with a faint, wet sound audible only to Victor.

Thin, sticky strands stretched lazily across the opening, crisscrossing like glistening threads between the wet inner folds.

With every gentle clench, the sticky threads trembled and pulled. Some snapped with a quiet wet sound and recoiled; others stretched thin before slowly weaving into new patterns.

The entire glistening web shimmered under the pulsing blue light, quivering in sync with her shallow breaths like fragile living bridges across the slick pink folds.

A clear bead swelled at the lowest point as fresh slickness welled up. When it tipped forward, it drew out into a delicate shimmering strand, hanging like spider silk between the parted inner folds.

It pulsed faintly with her entrance, swayed with each breath, then lengthened steadily until it formed a thin translucent link between the wet tissue above and the soft skin below.

With every shallow breath Victor took, her scent filled him—warm, subtly sweet, with a faint musk of skin and lingering exertion. It rose from the heat between her thighs and curled into his lungs like something alive. The fragrance was intimate and inescapable, blending with the cool cave air until he could no longer tell where her scent ended and his own breathing began.

Victor’s breath caught in his throat.

Her heat against his lips felt unbearable. She trembled faintly with every shift of her crouch, the blue light flickering over her skin as she moved to tend the glow.

The sight felt obscene in its raw vulnerability—shamelessly exposed. There was no fabric, no trace of modesty. Just her bare, perfect sex offered openly toward him in the dim half-light.

A soft exhale escaped her—barely audible, but unmistakably hers.

That same quiet sound she made when concentrating, when lost in thought.

His stomach dropped.

Bella.
