Chapter 145: Arriving in Shibuya

1 day ago · 6 min read

Satoru Gojo leaped above the crowd.

With only a few light steps, he crossed the open space inside Shibuya Hikarie and landed on the circular platform at the center of the building, the place that led directly down toward the fifth basement level and the subway tunnel beneath.

Through his pitch-black blindfold, his eyes looked downward.

The platforms on both sides of the station were packed with ordinary people. They had been herded below like livestock, trapped in the sealed space with no idea what waited for them.

Gojo understood the enemy's intention immediately.

They wanted to use civilians to restrict his movements.

If this had happened before Asuramaru's warning, he might have thought those fools genuinely believed this was enough to defeat him.

Now, however, the answer was obvious.

This was a trap Kenjaku had prepared for him.

The goal was the Prison Realm.

Gojo still did not know the exact method they intended to use, but his expression turned cold.

"Then I'll play along for a bit."

He stepped off the edge.

His body descended slowly, landing on the tracks below.

The moment his feet touched the ground, the entrance he had used, along with the surrounding exits, was sealed by dense, withered branches and roots.

Gojo sighed.

"Why bother? I'm not going to run."

He spoke toward the three figures waiting in front of him.

Standing across from him were Jogo, the Volcanic Calamity; Hanami, the Forest Calamity; and Choso, the incarnation of a Special Grade Cursed Object, the eldest brother of the Death Painting Wombs.

Gojo's gaze passed over them.

Jogo and Hanami were familiar faces.

As for the other one, Gojo could roughly guess his identity. Most likely, one of the stolen Death Painting Wombs had incarnated into the world.

After grasping the situation, Gojo spoke calmly.

"If I run, you'll kill everyone here, won't you?"

On the platform above, some of the civilians noticed the strange confrontation below.

"What are those two doing down there?"

A young man beside him frowned.

"Shouldn't it be four people?"

The crowd remained noisy, frightened and confused, their panic growing with every passing second.

Jogo looked around at the packed civilians, then smiled viciously.

"Of course not."

His voice carried a malicious edge.

"Even if you don't run, we're still going to kill them."

He raised the staff in his hand.

Cursed Energy surged, and flames burst across the staff's surface.

The gates at the subway entrance opened on their own. With nothing left to block them, the people crowded near the platform were pushed down onto the tracks.

Screams erupted.

The station fell into greater chaos.

Gojo's eyes behind the blindfold grew colder.

Without turning his head, he said to the civilians nearby, "Move back. If you don't want to die, leave quickly."

The words had barely fallen when Jogo and Hanami charged.

They moved through the crowd at terrifying speed, killing every human in their path.

Blood splashed across the platform.

Severed limbs flew.

Desperate cries filled the station.

Then the two Cursed Spirits arrived in front of Gojo, fists wrapped in Cursed Energy, and struck at him together.

Their attacks stopped before touching him.

Limitless blocked them effortlessly.

Gojo even let out a faint laugh.

"Heh."

But in the next moment, Jogo and Hanami activated Domain Amplification at the same time.

Their own Domains wrapped tightly around their bodies. Though this weakened their sure-hit effect and prevented them from using their Cursed Techniques, it allowed them to neutralize Limitless to a certain extent.

In this situation, Gojo had to deliberately avoid using his own Cursed Techniques too freely. If he used them carelessly, ordinary people would die. Even simple teleportation could crush any civilian caught in his path.

He could not expand his Domain either.

The moment a Domain shell formed, it would crush the ordinary people packed around them. If he pulled the civilians into the Domain, they would be subjected to its sure-hit effect.

Right now, Satoru Gojo was like a tiger whose claws and fangs had been restrained.

Only under these conditions did they have a chance to stall him.

At the same time, at Meiji-jingumae Station on the Tokyo Metro, Yuji Itadori arrived near Exit 2 while following Mei Mei.

Ui Ui stood close behind her.

A Curtain had been set up in front of them.

Mei Mei stepped forward and placed her hand against it.

The next moment, Cursed Energy surged from the Curtain and repelled her palm.

"Refusing my entry?"

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

"It seems the enemy's target is clearly you, Yuji Itadori. There will definitely be an ambush below the station."

She remembered the orders from the higher-ups and turned toward him.

"I don't recommend that you enter alone. Of course, the choice is yours. The orders I received were to stand by outside the Curtain."

Her tone remained composed.

"The best-case scenario is for you to dispel the Curtain as quickly as possible. If you encounter danger, return to the surface immediately."

Mei Mei glanced toward the station entrance.

"We still don't know whether there are any survivors underground."

Yuji looked at the white-haired Sorcerer in front of him.

His expression was calm, but his eyes had already grown firm.

"Please wait a moment, Mei-san."

After saying that, he turned inward.

"Asuramaru, what's the situation inside?"

Asuramaru extended his Perception into the station below.

A moment later, he replied.

"There are six Special Grades underground."

Yuji's pupils shrank.

"And almost no one alive."

The air around Yuji seemed to grow colder.

Asuramaru asked, "So, are you going down?"

Yuji's expression darkened.

"Is Mahito there?"

"That's right."

The moment Asuramaru confirmed it, killing intent rose in Yuji's chest.

He wanted to go down.

He wanted to kill Mahito with his own hands.

But six Special Grades were not opponents he could handle alone.

Yuji was not afraid of dying.

What he feared was something unexpected happening because of his recklessness.

After a brief silence, he made his decision.

He would not enter blindly.

Then Asuramaru sensed something and spoke with interest.

"They've come looking for you."

The words had just fallen when a figure leaped up from the station entrance.

It looked like a giant locust, a grotesque fusion of insect and human. Four powerful arms hung from its body, and sharp mouthparts protruded from its face, twitching as it stared at Yuji through the Curtain.

It stood on the other side and spoke in a halting, broken rhythm.

"Whatcha... looking at... Juju... Ju... Jujutsu Sorcerer, right?"

Its eyes locked onto Yuji.

"You're the Jujutsu Sorcerer Yuji Itadori, right? I've seen your photo. I'm very smart."

It tilted its head.

"Why... why don't you enter the station? I've been wai... waiting for you for a long time!"

Yuji did not answer immediately.

Demon Power surfaced with a thought.

Two sharp swords appeared at his waist.

Seeing Yuji remain silent, the Locust Curse continued speaking proudly.

"One look and I can tell you're definitely not smart. People who aren't smart die fast!"

It tapped its head with one of its hands.

"You can't even tell... what kind of Curse I am, can you?"

Yuji drew the twin swords from his waist.

His voice was cold.

"Aren't you a Locust Curse?"

The Locust Curse froze.

Impossible.

How did he know?

Inside its small head, confusion surged like a storm.

Yuji saw that it had no intention of attacking immediately and turned back toward Mei Mei.

"Mei-san, leave this place quickly."

His grip tightened around the swords.

"There are six Special Grade Cursed Spirits below."
