Chapter 143: Plotting Against Each Other

23 hours ago · 6 min read

Hearing Gakuganji's warning, Satoru Gojo merely smiled with absolute confidence and raised one hand.

Several bursts of Red shot forward with pinpoint accuracy.

They struck the limbs of the charging Curse User one after another, twisting and crushing them in an instant. The man's body flew backward from the impact, blood scattering across the ground as the meat cleaver tumbled from his hand.

Gojo did not even glance at him twice.

"Don't let him die, Principal Gakuganji."

Gakuganji's old face wrinkled further.

He looked displeased, but he still turned around and moved toward the Curse User, using treatment to keep him from bleeding to death on the spot.

After dealing with that, Gojo returned to the forest.

He found Aoi Todo and the others gathered around Yuji. Megumi lay not far away, still unconscious but no longer in danger.

Gojo grinned as if nothing serious had happened.

"I'll be taking Yuji and Megumi first."

As he spoke, he grabbed one in each hand.

The next instant, all three vanished.

Meanwhile, Kenjaku and the others had already returned to their base.

It was an abandoned rental apartment on the surface, but in truth, it existed within the Innate Domain of Dagon, the oceanic natural disaster still in its Cursed Womb stage.

Inside that strange space was a quiet beach.

Waves rolled in gently. The sky was clear. Warm sunlight spilled across the sand.

Kenjaku, Mahito, Jogo, and Hanami reclined on lounge chairs as if they were on vacation rather than planning a disaster that would shake the Jujutsu world.

Kenjaku spoke first.

"Our plan needs to be moved forward."

His tone was calm, but the content was anything but casual.

"Itadori Yuji has become too much of a variable. From now on, we must collect as many Sukuna Fingers as possible."

Jogo looked toward him.

Kenjaku continued, "We must also gather every tool and condition necessary to seal Satoru Gojo. The most critical part will be breaking Yuji Itadori without letting him experience too much intense negative emotion."

After several tests, Kenjaku had roughly understood what Asuramaru meant by desire.

In simple terms, it referred to a human's seven emotions and six desires.

When those emotions reached a certain level, one could earn Asuramaru's recognition.

Yuji Itadori was already filled with desire toward them.

More precisely, toward all Cursed Spirits.

The desire to kill them all.

If Yuji suffered another extreme emotional stimulus, no one could guarantee that his desire would not cross the threshold and earn Asuramaru's full recognition.

With that in mind, Kenjaku continued explaining.

"If we feed a large number of Sukuna Fingers into Yuji Itadori's body all at once, his body will find it difficult to adapt immediately."

"That will buy time for Sukuna to seize control of the body. At that point, we can cooperate with Sukuna to seal Satoru Gojo."

He looked at the others.

"Therefore, while restraining Satoru Gojo, we must also break Yuji Itadori as quickly as possible."

That was the rough outline of the plan.

Jogo's face remained cold.

"You make it sound simple."

His voice was heavy.

"Even I can no longer defeat the current Yuji Itadori quickly. If too many of us go after him, then problems will arise on Satoru Gojo's side."

As soon as he finished speaking, Mahito smiled from his chair.

"Jogo, are you saying you can't defeat Yuji Itadori quickly anymore?"

For Jogo's temper, that was no different from provocation.

Flames flickered from the volcano atop his head, but he suppressed his anger and snapped back, "I can't do it. Can you?"

This time, Mahito's smile stiffened.

He lost his temper as well.

The two began arguing almost immediately.

Kenjaku watched them without any change in expression, then continued speaking as though their quarrel did not exist.

"Did you know?" he said. "Satoru Gojo is at his strongest when he is alone."

The discussion continued.

They began revising the plan, step by step, searching for a way to execute it before Yuji grew beyond their control.

Time passed quickly.

In the blink of an eye, seven days went by.

Inside a dormitory room at Tokyo Jujutsu High, sunlight spilled across a bed.

Yuji Itadori slowly opened his eyes.

The first thing he saw was Megumi Fushiguro's cold face.

The second thing he saw was Satoru Gojo's smiling face leaning close.

Nobara Kugisaki sat off to the side, arms crossed, her gaze fixed on him.

"Yuji," Gojo said with a strangely cheerful grin, "you slept for seven days this time. Congratulations, you broke your record again."

"Is that so?"

Yuji answered subconsciously.

His mind was still foggy. He could only vaguely remember what had happened that day: Mahoraga, the white tide, Asuramaru's voice, and then darkness.

Megumi looked down at him with a cold expression that could not fully hide his concern.

"How do you feel?"

Yuji scratched his head.

"A little dizzy, but much better now."

"You're buying."

Nobara cut in from the side, sounding irritated.

"You made us worry for seven whole days. You have to treat us this time."

Yuji looked at the three of them and felt a little lost.

Then he lowered his head slightly.

"Sorry for making you worry."

Nobara accepted the apology with a satisfied huff.

Gojo, however, leaned closer with a troubled expression.

"She's right, Yuji. You really do need to treat us. I've been busy for a long time cleaning up the mess you left behind."

During the past seven days, the Jujutsu higher-ups had launched all kinds of frantic probes.

After the Goodwill Event incident, they had already guessed that another terrifying existence besides Sukuna dwelled within Yuji Itadori.

Asuramaru.

Now, their desire to execute Yuji had become even stronger.

This time, it was not because of Sukuna.

It was because of Asuramaru.

The higher-ups did not want to see a second Satoru Gojo appear, especially one beyond their control.

Unfortunately for them, in front of Gojo, all of that was nonsense.

The Jujutsu world ultimately respected strength.

And Gojo's strength was enough to make their objections meaningless.

Inside the Innate Domain, Asuramaru was also thinking about the upcoming Shibuya Incident.

With his interference, it would most likely happen earlier.

The details would certainly change.

Based on his current guess, Kenjaku and the Disaster Curses would probably try to gather enough Sukuna Fingers and feed them to Yuji all at once, forcing Sukuna to awaken and assist in sealing Satoru Gojo.

As for the specific execution, Asuramaru could not be completely certain.

But judging from the outcome, their side still held the advantage.

After all, Sukuna eating fingers was beneficial to Asuramaru as well.

And without Mahoraga, Sukuna might not necessarily be able to defeat Satoru Gojo.

Still, Asuramaru had no intention of sitting around and waiting for things to happen.

He controlled his Demon Power.

Pitch-black threads seeped from Yuji Itadori's arm and moved quietly toward Gojo's palm.

Gojo noticed them at once.

His eyes showed a trace of surprise and curiosity.

What did Asuramaru want with him?

The next moment, the black threads connected.

Gojo's consciousness entered the mental world.

At the boundary between sky and sea, Gojo met Asuramaru once again.

As always, Gojo wore a grin on the surface.

"Did you call me here for something specific?"

Asuramaru turned around.

"I saw an interesting future."

His crimson eyes gleamed faintly.

"Do you want to know?"

Hearing those words, Gojo's smile slowly faded.

He sensed something.

"Does it have to do with me?"

"Exactly."

Asuramaru did not beat around the bush.

"In the future I saw, you were sealed by the Prison Realm."

Gojo did not speak.

Asuramaru smiled mischievously.

"Guess who sealed you?"

Even after hearing that he would be sealed, Gojo remained calm.

"Was it those Special Grade Cursed Spirits?"

Asuramaru shook his head.

"They weren't the masterminds."

Gojo thought for a moment.

No matter how he considered it, there were not many people in the world capable of arranging something like that.

In the end, he gave up.

"I can't guess."

Asuramaru looked bored by how quickly he surrendered.

Then he gave the answer.

"That person was none other than your former best friend."

Gojo's eyes changed.

Asuramaru's smile deepened.

"Suguru Geto."
