Chapter 116: The Trio Assembles

Sukuna did not lose himself to rage.
Not entirely.
Within Yuji's body, the King of Curses quickly began sorting through every word he had heard and every change he had witnessed.
From the brat's explanation, Asuramaru has not truly acknowledged him. That much is certain.
But he has caught Asuramaru's interest.
Why?
Because he intends to perish with me? Because he wants to reduce the number of people harmed by curses?
And that condition...
A firm heart.
If the vessel wavers, Asuramaru will seize the body.
Sukuna's eyes narrowed within the darkness of his Innate Domain.
Then does that mean I will also have a chance to leave?
If he could not seize Yuji's body for now, then the next step was simple.
Find a way out of this vessel.
As for Asuramaru, there was no need to remain trapped inside this brat forever just to obtain him. Once Sukuna found a way to separate himself, he could challenge that so-called acknowledgment ritual again.
He only needed the opportunity.
I need to leave this body.
The thought settled into place.
But even with a plan forming, Sukuna's anger did not fade.
Gojo Satoru was one thing.
But Yuji Itadori?
This clueless brat?
What right did he have?
Inside the sword, Asuramaru heard the system's prompt.
[Ding! Detected the King of Curses, Sukuna, generating intense negative emotions. Obtained 10,000 emotion points!]
Asuramaru's lips curved slightly.
Good.
This one was much easier to squeeze than Muzan.
Outside, Gojo Satoru took the sword Yuji handed him and examined it briefly.
The moment his fingers closed around the hilt, he felt it.
No Cursed Energy.
Yet the sword was unmistakably dangerous.
It carried a nature completely different from cursed tools, as if it belonged to another system of power entirely. Clean, sharp, and faintly wrong in a way that even the Six Eyes could not fully deconstruct.
Gojo returned the sword, the corner of his mouth lifting.
"Take it back, Itadori. Congratulations. You've awakened your Cursed Technique and become a jujutsu sorcerer."
Then his tone became lighter, but his words remained serious.
"But don't tell anyone about Asuramaru. Not the higher-ups. Not other students. No one, unless I say otherwise."
Yuji nodded.
"Got it."
He willed it, and the sword scattered into black smoke, sinking back into his body.
"Now," Gojo said, clapping his hands together, "let's get your things packed."
"Huh? Okay. But where are we going?"
Before Gojo could answer, another figure appeared at the entrance.
Megumi Fushiguro stood there with bandages wrapped around him. His face was as expressionless as ever, though his injuries made the effect slightly less intimidating.
"Tokyo," Megumi said. "You're transferring to the jujutsu school I attend."
Gojo raised a finger beside him.
"Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School. By the way, with you included, there are only three first-years."
Yuji stared.
"Only three? Why so few?"
No one gave him a satisfying answer.
The group left soon after.
Inside Yuji's mind, Asuramaru, who had been watching the entire process, could not help but sigh.
What kind of broken school is this?
He had seen enough to form an opinion.
Was there even a point to teaching like this? It sounded less like a school and more like throwing children into a haunted building and seeing which ones crawled back out.
It was not that different from Hogwarts in that regard.
The best way to learn was apparently to confront curses directly. If you survived, congratulations, you had educational potential.
Absurd.
Completely absurd.
And yet, somehow, everyone treated it as normal.
The next day.
Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School.
Gojo led Yuji up the stone steps, the path winding through a quiet, old-fashioned campus hidden away from ordinary society.
"You'll be having a private interview with the principal," Gojo said casually. "Just so you know, there's a chance he'll reject your admission. Do your best."
Before Yuji could answer, a mouth opened on his cheek.
Sukuna's voice slipped out first, lazy and mocking.
"They don't rank people by strength? How dull."
His tone sharpened.
"Once I completely take over this brat's body, you'll be the first one I kill."
Gojo stopped walking.
His expression did not change.
"What an honor," he replied flatly. "Being desired by Sukuna himself. I'm blushing."
Yuji covered the mouth on his cheek with one hand, looking more curious than alarmed.
"Is this guy famous?"
Gojo continued walking.
"Ryomen Sukuna is often treated as a fictional demon god with four arms and two faces, but he was real. A human sorcerer from the golden age of jujutsu."
His tone stayed light, but the information was anything but.
"The sorcerers of that era tried to subjugate him and failed. He defeated them all and became known as the King of Curses."
Gojo glanced back at Yuji.
"Of course, compared to Asuramaru inside you, Sukuna is nothing special. Asuramaru is a true deity, after all."
Sukuna's mouth vanished from Yuji's cheek.
Inside, the King of Curses was very quiet.
Dangerously quiet.
Before long, they arrived at their destination.
A room filled with handmade dolls and strange puppets.
The man waiting inside was built like a wall. He wore sunglasses and worked on a puppet with thick, practiced fingers, his presence stern enough to make the room feel smaller.
Masamichi Yaga.
Principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High.
He got to the point quickly.
There was a test.
A blunt question.
A direct challenge.
Then, just as quickly, admission was granted.
Yuji had barely adjusted to the idea of being judged before he had already been accepted.
After that, the group headed to Morioka Station to pick up the final first-year.
Nobara Kugisaki arrived in her school uniform, suitcase in hand, short light-brown hair brushing her neck. She had the air of someone who had already decided the city owed her a proper welcome.
Then she saw Yuji and Megumi.
She looked at Yuji.
Then at Megumi.
Her expression fell.
Country bumpkin.
Then her gaze shifted.
And this one clearly thinks he's above everyone.
Nobara sighed inwardly.
I've really landed in a mess.
Yuji, who had been smiling a second ago, noticed the look on her face and stiffened.
"Why are you sighing after looking at our faces?"
Megumi remained cold and unmoved. He turned directly to Gojo.
"Where are we going next?"
Gojo spread his arms with bright enthusiasm.
"Since all three first-years are finally here, obviously we're going sightseeing in Tokyo!"
Yuji's eyes lit up.
Nobara's mood recovered instantly.
"Tokyo!"
"Sightseeing!"
Then Gojo added with a grin, "Our destination is Roppongi."
The two of them immediately began imagining shining streets, luxury stores, crowds, neon lights, and the dazzling life of the capital.
Reality betrayed them.
Their destination was a deserted neighborhood.
Before them stood a dilapidated building with cracked walls, broken windows, and the kind of silence that made even the wind sound guilty.
Gojo stood at the front, turned around, and smiled.
"There's a curse inside. I'm not sure what level you two are at yet, so consider this a test."
He pointed at Yuji and Nobara.
"Nobara. Yuji. You two go in and exorcise the curse."
Neither of them objected.
Nobara adjusted her grip on her tools and walked forward.
Yuji followed.
As they entered the abandoned building, Yuji's thoughts stirred. Black smoke curled around his waist and condensed into two sheathed katana at his sides.
Nobara noticed at once.
She turned, her eyes narrowing with curiosity.
"What's your Cursed Technique?"
Yuji drew the sword on his right.
Wind.
The moment it left the sheath, a faint current stirred through the dusty corridor. Air slid along the edge of the blade, thin and sharp.
Yuji felt the gale answer him.
He looked at Nobara and smiled awkwardly.
"I really want to tell you, but Gojo-sensei said I'm not allowed to tell anyone."
Nobara turned away with a huff.
"Hmph. Acting all mysterious. It's probably some embarrassing ability you don't want to say out loud."
The two continued deeper into the abandoned building.
Dust covered the floor. Broken boards creaked underfoot. The air smelled of mold, rust, and something faintly rotten.
Yuji kept one hand on Wind and asked inwardly, "Asuramaru, do I need your approval to unlock the other abilities of these two swords?"
Asuramaru had already prepared an answer.
There was no point wasting too much time on complicated explanations. His approach in this world would be simple.
Strengthen Yuji through Feedback.
Kill all the way forward.
"These two swords are only a portion of my power," Asuramaru replied. "Control of them has already been handed to you. The reason you can't use their other abilities is simple. Your Cursed Energy is too low."
Yuji thought about it seriously.
"So if I keep training my Cursed Energy until I meet the requirement, I'll be able to use the other abilities?"
He had barely finished asking when his body reacted before his mind did.
Danger.
Yuji's eyes sharpened.
The air in the corridor shifted.
Something was coming.
