Chapter 806 - 806: A cunning display of Seraphine

1 day ago · 5 min read

Seraphine had always been like this... fearless with her words and unafraid to cross boundaries others wouldn't even approach. But more than that, she was intelligent. Among his three daughters, she stood out as the most perceptive, the most capable of seeing through layers that others would never even notice.

She understood him in ways that very few ever could.

"You guessed correctly," Julian admitted after a moment, his laughter softening into a quiet chuckle. There was no point denying it.

"But you should remember one thing," he continued, his tone shifting slightly, becoming more measured. "Everything I've done… it's all for the sake of gathering information. Nothing more."

The lie came effortlessly, as if he had rehearsed it countless times before. But even as the words left his lips, Julian was fully aware that Seraphine would not believe him... not even for a second. She was far too cunning to go with that.

As expected, Seraphine rolled her eyes dramatically and pushed lightly at his chest.

"Whatever makes you sleep at night, Father," she said. "I know you too well. Once you set your eyes on something or someone, you rarely stop until you've claimed it completely. Whether it's a kingdom, a treasure… or a beautiful woman who happens to be related to your current identity."

She crossed her arms under her chest, which only accentuated her own figure in the tight gown, and gave him a long, appraising look.

"Olivia, was it? Kraven's mother?" Seraphine continued, clearly enjoying herself now. "She must be quite the woman if she managed to catch your interest so quickly. And the sister… Vanessa? I wonder how far you've pushed that particular boundary. Does she know yet? Or are you still playing the role of the changed, reformed son?"

Julian shook his head, still smiling, but there was a hint of warning in his eyes. "You're enjoying this far too much, Seraphine."

"I'm your daughter," she replied innocently, batting her eyelashes. "I learned from the best. Besides, if you're going to conquer an entire family from the inside, the least you can do is share a few details with your favorite daughter."

This time Julian closed the distance between them. He stepped closer until there was almost no space left, his taller frame towering over her. The air between them grew thick, charged with something far more dangerous than mere reunion.

"Forget about others, Seraphine," he murmured, his breath brushing against her ear. "You came all this way to meet your father after so long… will you not give your old man something as a present?"

Seraphine's lips twitched in amusement, but her blue eyes darkened with a familiar spark — a mix of surprise, excitement, and that bold hunger she had inherited from him. She didn't pull away. Instead, she tilted her head slightly, letting her long blonde hair fall over one shoulder as she looked up at him through her lashes.

"A present?" she repeated softly, her voice taking on a playful, breathy tone. "My, my… Father, you're being awfully direct tonight. I thought you were too busy playing the reformed son in this borrowed body."

Julian's hand rose slowly, his fingers tracing the line of her jaw before sliding down to rest against the side of her neck. He could feel her pulse racing beneath his touch.

"I've missed you," he said honestly, his thumb stroking the soft skin just below her ear. "And right now… I don't want to talk about schemes, or wars, or other women. I want my daughter. The one who was brave enough to sneak across the kingdom just to see me."

Seraphine's breath hitched. A faint flush crept up her neck, visible even in the dim mana-lamp light. She placed one hand lightly on his chest, not pushing him away but feeling the steady beat of his heart through Kraven's body.

"You always know exactly what to say to make me weak," she whispered, her fingers curling slightly into the fabric of his nightwear. "Even in someone else's skin… you still feel like you."

Julian leaned in closer, his lips hovering just above hers. "Then give me what I want, Seraphine. Be a good daughter tonight."

For a heartbeat, she held his gaze. She was almost about to give in… but then something changed. A spark of challenge flashed across her face. Seraphine stepped back just enough and put distance between them to make him feel the loss of her warmth.

With a slow, seductive sway of her hips, she moved toward the bed and sat gracefully on the edge. She crossed one long leg over the other and the high slit of her gown parted teasingly to reveal a tantalizing glimpse of smooth, pale thigh. The fabric rode up dangerously high, barely covering what it should. Then she deliberately leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees, which pushed her breasts together and showcased her inviting cleavage in the most provocative way possible.

"I am not in the mood, Father," she said, her voice smooth and laced with playful mischief.

Julian's smile widened. That's her alright, he thought to himself. Seraphine had always been like this. It was a game they had played many times before, and one she never tired of.

He took a step closer, his eyes shamelessly roaming over her exposed thighs and the generous swell of her breasts straining against the tight red gown.

"And besides," Seraphine continued, tilting her head with feigned innocence, "I am your daughter. A sane father would never think of such things… right?"

Julian let out a low, dark chuckle. He stopped right in front of her, looking down at his beautiful daughter with pure hunger in his gaze. The silk of his nightwear did nothing to hide how hard he had become.

"Do you think your father is sane?" he asked, his voice dropping into that deep, seductive register that always made her shiver. "And besides… what can a father do when his daughter is this hot?"
