Chapter 1845 Second Limit

16 hours ago · 5 min read

Rakan's words fell, and the entire central stage seemed to grow heavier under them.

The bronze light of the First Limit still burned across his body, but it was no longer enough, and everyone present could see that plainly.

The War Blood Awakening had allowed him to suppress Max for a brief stretch, but once Max opened the Vein of Origin, the rhythm of the battle changed completely. Rakan, the first Warlord of the War God Palace, had been forced back again and again in the very domain where he was supposed to reign supreme.

For the War God Palace, this was no small matter, and for the Divine Realm as a whole, it was even more shocking. Rakan Thorne was not merely a body cultivator. He was one of the most terrifying body cultivators of the entire younger generation, the first Warlord of the War God Palace, and a monster who had already broken three limits of the War God Body.

Yet Max, who belonged to no part of the War God Palace and had not even touched his dragon transformation, had dominated Rakan's First Limit using nothing but the first vein of the Seven Divine Veins.

On the stage, Rakan lowered his head for a moment, and his shoulders began to shake. Then he started to laugh. The laughter began low, then swelled louder and louder until it rolled across the arena like thunder, saturated with excitement, madness, and burning war intent.

He slowly raised his head, and the casual confidence that had lived in his eyes was gone. In its place remained only the pure joy of finding an opponent capable of forcing him beyond his comfort.

"Max Morgan," Rakan said, his voice deep and rough, "you are dangerous."

Max regarded him calmly. "Is that a compliment?"

"It is the highest compliment I can offer you right now." Rakan clenched both fists, and the bronze markings across his body flared brighter. "The First Limit alone is enough to crush nearly anyone in this conference foolish enough to fight me body against body, yet you broke through it so easily."

Max said nothing, and Rakan's grin stretched wider still.

"Good. Then I will not insult you by taking this slowly."

The moment those words rang out, the War God Palace disciples outside the Eternal Hourglass fell completely silent, for many of them knew exactly what was coming. At the Black Dragon Clan, the disciples felt their throats tighten as well.

The enormous screen above the viewing plaza showed Rakan standing at the center of the stage with bronze light blazing around him like a war furnace, and every disciple could sense that the first Warlord was about to unleash a far more terrifying tier of physical power.

On the central stage, Rakan slowly spread both arms. The runes that had been glowing along his arms and shoulders began crawling across his chest, his back, his neck, and his legs. His skin took on a deeper bronze luster, and the sound rising from within his body changed in character. During the First Limit, his blood had roared like war drums. Now his bones began to answer.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

The sound was nothing like ordinary bones popping. It resembled divine metal being reforged inside a living body.

Rakan's voice rang out.

"War God Body."

The pressure surrounding him climbed sharply.

"Second Limit."

The air around his frame twisted.

"War Bone Reforging."

Boom!

A terrifying wave of physical pressure detonated outward. The stage beneath Rakan's feet sank several inches, and the cracks already webbing the dark gold stone tore wider. His body did not grow in size, yet his entire frame seemed to become indestructible.

The aura radiating from his bones grew so dense that even the geniuses watching from the pillars felt as though they were staring at a divine weapon shaped like a man.

The War God Palace erupted.

"The Second Limit!"

"War Bone Reforging!"

"Rakan has opened the Second Limit!"

"Now let us see how Max keeps up!"

At the Black Dragon Clan, the disciples clenched their fists once more.

"He went straight to the Second Limit."

"His body feels completely different now."

"Can Max's Vein of Origin still dominate him?"

Lady Virelia watched without so much as blinking. The seven family heads beside her no longer spoke in casual tones, for all of them could tell that Rakan's physical body had undergone a qualitative transformation.

The First Limit awakened the blood, and the Second Limit reforged the bones. With this limit open, Rakan's body was not merely stronger. It had become harder to injure, harder to shake, and far more stable under any impact.

On the participant pillars, Damian Voss's gaze turned grave.

Orion Starfall exhaled slowly. "This must be the true bodily foundation of the War God Palace."

Kaiden Voidmere gave a faint nod. "The First Limit released the power of his blood, and the Second Limit reinforces the body's frame. If Max intends to overpower him now, pure strength will not be enough unless his own foundation runs even deeper."

Ervin watched in silence. "Rakan is not finished."

Just as Ervin spoke, Rakan raised his head once more, and the bronze light around him continued to climb. Max's eyes sharpened slightly. Rakan had no intention of attacking with the Second Limit alone. He was still going.

The War God Palace disciples stared at the screen with widening eyes.

"He is not stopping?"

"Is he going to open the Third Limit as well?"

"Against Max, he is opening two limits back to back?"

Saint Reiner, standing in the shadows of the War God Palace, narrowed his eyes, and for the first time a faint trace of approval surfaced in his gaze as he watched Rakan.

"Good," he muttered. "Do not test him half-heartedly."

Inside the Eternal Hourglass, Rakan's body rumbled yet again. This time the sound came neither from his blood nor from his bones, but from his flesh itself. His muscles tightened, his tendons gleamed, and every line of his body seemed to swell with explosive war power.

The bronze markings across his skin joined into a single unbroken pattern, forming an ancient design of war that covered him like living divine armor carved directly into his flesh. The pressure around him grew so heavy that the very space near his body appeared to tremble.
