Chapter 254 254: Natsumi Date (Part 4)

1 month ago · 7 min read

"I have a bad feeling."

After Tohka and Origami left, Natsumi looked at Mikoto and said that.

"Yeah. I have a bad feeling too."

Mikoto sighed.

Today, the two of them had practically run into every Spirit they knew.

As for the ones left… leaving aside the elusive Kurumi, there was still one Spirit who, for girls, was even more undesirable to encounter than the Worst Spirit, Miku.

That was right.

She was…

"Huh? Darling, and Natsumi-san too. What are you two doing here?"

Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind them, making Mikoto and Natsumi tremble like cats whose fur had puffed up.

"Oh my, don't tell me, are you two going on a date together?"

Behind them, that voice came closer and closer.

"She—she appeared!"

"Eek! The yuri monster is here!"

The two looked at each other and, without even looking back to see who was standing behind them, both turned and ran!

"Eh? Wait, why are you running? So mean!"

And just like that, the encounter between the super yuri idol, Izayoi Miku, and Mikoto and Natsumi ended the instant they met.

"Did… did we lose her?"

After running for who knew how long, Natsumi looked behind them with lingering fear and said that.

"We… we probably lost her."

Mikoto also said while panting.

"But is this okay? Miku's mood might get worse, right?"

Natsumi asked while looking at Mikoto, who looked like Shido.

"Well, if it's Miku, it should be fine… right?"

The girl guiltily turned her head away.

Compared to Tohka and the others, Miku's mental state was not that easy to lower.

Also… because she often teased the Spirit girls, to Miku, getting close affectionately only for the other person to run away with a wary or frightened expression had long since become normal.

"That's true."

Natsumi nodded with full agreement.

"In short… for the sake of our chastity, running away was definitely better."

Although Mikoto looked like Shido, that was not a problem at all for Miku.

Even if Mikoto returned to her original appearance, Miku would probably only smile and say something like, "Mikoto-san is fine too. Then, time to dig in", before eating both Mikoto and Natsumi clean.

"But with this, we probably won't run into anyone else, right?"

Mikoto tilted her head and thought for a moment.

Mm-hm, as long as they did not go to places like a cat cafe, there was no reason they would run into the hidden boss.

"Then, where do you want to go next? Today, I'll properly stay with Natsumi."

Mikoto smiled, reached out her hand, and asked.

"Then… I want to go to High Platform Park."

Natsumi's face flushed faintly. She reached out and held Mikoto's hand, then said softly.

And so, the two left the shopping street and headed toward High Platform Park.

"Haa… I'm exhausted."

At dusk, Shido was walking on the road home.

Early this morning, Natsumi had suddenly rushed into his bedroom and turned him into Mikoto.

"Even if I was going to sweep snow, she didn't need to turn me into senpai."

Even without turning into a girl, sweeping snow at the shrine was still simple enough. Shido sighed, completely unable to understand what Natsumi was thinking.

"My shoulders are so sore…"

It felt completely different from when he turned into Shiori. Especially around his chest, there was a heavy feeling. Even if he did nothing, it somehow made his shoulders sore.

It was a very clear contrast with his current self, who had already returned to normal.

"Girls really have it hard…"

He carried the ingredients he had just bought and returned home. Although he did not understand why Mikoto had sent him that kind of message, he still bought a generous amount of ingredients according to the girl's instructions.

(Is she asking me to make Christmas dinner again? Well… I don't hate that either.)

For Shido, cooking could be counted as one of his few hobbies. Although he had been eating Mikoto's cooking all this time, if he had the chance, he still wanted to try making something himself.

With those thoughts, he returned to the Itsuka house and opened the door…

"Ah…"

"Shido."

Standing at the entrance was a girl with long snow-white hair. In the girl's arms was a pile of soft, fluffy things.

Looking carefully, those were his underwear.

"Origami… what is this?"

Shido asked, the corner of his mouth twitching.

"An additional part… of my Christmas present."

Origami hugged the clothes tightly and said that.

"Hurry and give them ba—"

Halfway through speaking, Shido remembered Mikoto's message.

Although he still did not understand what exactly was going on…

"Forget it…"

He gave up on trying to take back those clothes.

"Mm. I will treasure and use them, Shido's underwear."

And so, Origami nodded in satisfaction.

"Don't use them! As expected, I really can't give those to you!"

Hearing Origami's words, Shido became even more uneasy. However, by the time he tried to get those clothes back, Origami had already walked farther and farther away.

"What exactly is going on?"

With no other choice, he returned home, tied on an apron, and entered the kitchen to start preparing the ingredients he had bought.

"Shido! I'm back!"

At that moment, Tohka ran into the living room, then came to his side.

"Umu! So many delicious ingredients!"

The girl looked at the things inside the plastic bags, and her eyes began sparkling.

"Is there anything I can help with?"

Tohka asked obediently. Somehow, the girl seemed to be in a very good mood today.

"Then, help me sort the ingredients. The ones we won't use today can go into the fridge."

Shido said.

"Umu, leave it to me!"

And so, Tohka hurried over to the fridge and began organizing the ingredients.

"Excuse… me…"

"Yaho! We came to play with Shido-kun."

By the time Shido finished the basic preparation of the ingredients, Yoshino and Yoshinon also arrived.

"Today… thank you, Shido-san…"

Yoshino ran over in small steps, grabbed the hem of Shido's clothes, and said shyly.

"Eh?"

Shido froze.

He had spent the whole day sweeping snow at the shrine and had no memory of meeting Yoshino.

"Oh my! Why are you still playing dumb? You clearly did this and that to Yoshinon. Right, right, what was that technique? Could it be Shiori-chan's bridal training? It was bridal training, right?"

The rabbit puppet seemed very excited.

"No… I…"

Shido awkwardly scratched his head. To be honest, he had absolutely no idea what Yoshino and Yoshinon were talking about.

"Oh, you don't need to explain. Yoshino and Yoshinon will keep Shiori-chan's secret. But, you know, the groom has to be Yoshino-kun."

As a result, the rabbit puppet continued speaking without giving Shido any chance to ask questions.

"I'll go… set the plates… for Shido-san's cooking…"

Instead, Yoshino grew shy. She covered Yoshinon's mouth, then began preparing the plates for the coming feast.

"Kukuku! I, who obtained the power of curry, have returned!"

"Mockery. Even though you could not finish even one third of it."

As if not giving Shido any chance to keep asking questions, Kaguya and Yuzuru entered the Itsuka house one after another.

"Ah, Shido! Thanks for today."

"Gratitude. The red bean soup was delicious."

The two ran to Shido's side and thanked him.

"Eh?"

And so, Shido froze again.

"Ah, right. This is for you. It is the legendary antidote summoned through the combined strength of us Children of Typhoon."

"Gift. This bottle of Pocari Sweat is for Shido."

The two took out a drink, handed it to Shido, then returned to the living room and started playing video games.

"Darling! Darling was so mean today. Why did you ignore me?"

At that moment, Miku ran in with a deeply wronged expression and complained sweetly to Shido.

"Eh? No, I…"

At this point, Shido was completely confused.

What exactly was going on? Somehow, it felt like everyone had met him today.

"Um… sorry."

Although he did not understand what had happened, Shido scratched his hair and apologized for now.

"Then, if you're willing to go shopping with me next time, I'll forgive Darling."

And so, Miku stopped looking upset and smiled.

No, somehow, the girl did not seem angry at all. It seemed more like she had used this chance to trick him into going out with her.

"You…"

And so, Shido sighed.

"Then it's settled. I'll go help Yoshino-san and Tohka-san."

Miku winked, then joined in the dinner preparations.

"I'm back. Oh, tonight's dinner is pretty luxurious."

A short while later, Kotori returned. Looking at the gorgeous dishes on the table, she said in some surprise.

"Well… there are all kinds of reasons."

Shido scratched his head in distress. Even now, he still did not understand why Mikoto had asked him to make so much food. But everyone seemed very happy, so in that sense, it was worth it.

"Right… um…"

Suddenly, Kotori seemed to remember something. She became a little awkward and softly said:

"Today… thanks. Keep doing your best from now on too, Onii-chan."

"Eh? Kotori, what did you just say?"

"Shut up! I didn't say anything! More importantly, hurry and bring all the dishes over."

Shido, who failed to understand what Kotori meant, tried to ask her, but the girl snapped at him.

"We're back, Shido."

"Mm, we're back."

Once dinner was ready, Mikoto and Natsumi also returned.

"Welcome back. Speaking of which, did something happen today?"

Shido stepped forward and looked at Natsumi and Mikoto as he asked.

For some reason, he felt like all the Spirits were very happy today.

"Oh my, I wonder what happened?"

Mikoto touched her index finger to her lips and winked with a smile.

"Yeah, I wonder what happened?"

The two looked at each other, and neither of them seemed to have any intention of explaining.

Only Shido was left standing there with a blank expression.
